Valley View upstate NY. Tell me what you think
This photo was taken on a clear and bright December day. About 2:00 PM.
As I was driving home and come over a ridge I noticed the layering effect of the mountains in the distance. The color is very rich, but the foreground is a little drab. In PP I did tweak it a bit so the distant mountains were a little more defined. What say you all, or
The photos had to be added in the next post.
telephoto at 800mm
I love layered landscapes! I like the first better. Did you use a tripod? And what settings? It's a gorgeous view, but seems a little soft-- and I think I might have moved a bit to get rid of the building, or to make it a more dominant feature. If this is part of your usual travel route, I can see wonderful photos for you to share with us in the future.
Hello, I was using my Kodak bridge camera (Z990) it has a 28-840mm super zoom.
It was right off the road in late afternoon light. Just pulled up, rolled down the window and took the shot in full auto.
The first photo is at about 200mm #2 is at 840mm. I didn't crop them.

I might try cropping to a panoramic scene. I would try moving the bottom of the existing photo up to the middle and lowering the sky down about 1/4 of the original. Should make a very interesting scene. What part of N.Y. was it taken?
Looks like the squirrel has his eye on you! Cute pic.
I live about 50 miles north of Albany. And about 18 miles west Bennington, VT. Just a little village on HWY 22 called Cambridge. The photo was taken about 5 miles west of Cambridge, off HWY 22.
