Just like one of those pink sunsets.

As we all know, most of the pink sunset/sunrise pics posted here pretty much suck (they all look pretty much the same). We tell the poster that their picture is very nice when it is actually rather bland just to be polite.

Not that the photographer took a bad pic; not at all. It is just that the camera can not interpret one of God's greatest gifts as well as our eyes can.

This photo is pretty much the same way. The actual scene was very beautiful to look at. The greens were rich and vibrant. The shadows and the light were simply amazing. The water was crystal clear.

Maybe if I used a better lens I could have captured the depth and richness a lot better. I don't know. I tried different things in pp but to no avail.

Maybe it is just the photographer.
Maybe it is just the photographer....

I like this picture. I'm not saying it to be polite; I'm being totally honest. I love to photograph little streams. There's some thing tranquil about them.

Well thank you very much! I hope people do not think I was being insulting. It just seems that there are some things that are extremely difficult to photograph and get the total impact from. Sunsets are one of them. This type of pic is another. I am glad you enjoyed it!

Nice photo but to me (maybe my eyes) it looks too busy with so much color in the same ranges. I don't think the photo picked up the 3d dimensions of the scene which out eyes would have recognized to make it fantastic. Overall good but, as I said too busy in my eyes.

I am not a professional photographer, I am learning now, but maybe is the time of the day you took the picture, is a great picture, but at times if there is too much light, it kind of takes its magic away. I have had the same problem several times. And believe me I love taking pictures in the woods , Forrest, rivers and creeks. But it is definitely a great picture.

You hit that part right on the head- the 3D thing. That is missing big time. About being too busy; Could be. I am still on my first cup of coffee. I will take a good look. Lol.

You too, are right. That is kind of what I was alluding to. Yes it was very bright out. but the way the light was coming through the canopy was pretty neat, but I missed. I thought the camera would catch what I saw. It did not happen. Thanks for your input!

Don't worry about insulting anybody. Most of them think it was directed at everyone else:)
Your photo is nice, but I do see your point. Most of mine turn out like that. Sometimes I can salvage one out of 50 in lightroom, sometimes nothing can save any of them.

Good. I am glad you saw my point. However, last night I did see a post of a pink sunset that was in my opinion, outstanding. I also have the same problem with my portraiture. Here I am frustrated because everyone else's seem to have much more depth and richness than mine. Go figure.
