Walking around in Bahrain today 12/1/11

Just a few pictures from where I am today .
Bahrain
Came across this what appeared to be an abandoned boat .
A mosque .
Along a fence by the Mosque .
The Cultural Center is part of that Mosque
Mosque also .
A reflection in a window .
There are many new buildings going up around here . Mostly hotels and apartments .

Yes Rivernan . I was in New York for 8 weeks . Home in Virginia for 5 days . Then got on a plane yesterday to Atlanta then to Amsterdam Holland ( change planes ) then to here in Bahrain late last night . Will be going to Diego Garcia so far tomorrow AM .
Its a small Island in the Indian Ocean with just a British and American military base there . I plan on taking a lot of sunrise/ sunset pictures while I'm there . Beach pictures too . Not much to do there so taking pictures will pass the time .

Robert, I assume you are in the military serving our country. If so, thank you for that and stay safe.
My home is only about 50 miles from your town of Norfolk, VA. Look forward to some of your pictures from Diego Garcia.

Not military , Vietnam vet but Merchant Marine . I know where Coaker is . A guy I knew , merchant marine moved up there. Russel Barrack ,not sure of the spelling though . He retired many years ago

I can name quite a few places and some I didn't like . Last time I counted , I have been to 42 countries some more than once . There's good and bad everywhere , some places are good and some are bad . Two that stand out right now are Holland , Singapore , and I'll add this one , Nova Scotia . I can't leave out Scotland ( my birthplace ) . There's so many , i can go on and on .
I like the scarf too .

Robert, we just went to Nova Scotia this past spring and loved it. Have not been to Scotland, but that's where my ancestors are from. Always wanted to go. Its on my bucket list.

My BFF since HS and I want to go to Scotland, Ireland and Wales, but first we gotta go to the Derby, so maybe in two yrs. would love suggestions on where to visit.

Tracy , Largs ( see picture I posted is nice ) . Edinburgh , Inverness , Loch Lomond , Really anywhere . But do it in June / July and take rain coats .
