I've been urged by a few uhh friends to submit the winning image of the Still Life contest for broader viewing. Not wanting to bore you folks with it, I will post it because it gives me an opportunity to give my thanks and appreciation for the man who runs the contests. When they first started I gave them a week but the gentleman who runs the contests is obviously no ordinary man and the contests have become like the Energizer bunny - they just keep going. Thanks St3v3M, for all your effort. It adds an element of enjoyment to the forum for many members to have contests to participate in. Many thanks to the other participants and especially those who voted.

I'd also like to congratulate the other winners and the ones who didn't win this time around. There were some mighty gorgeous images in the lineup and I am absolutely surprised that my image came out the winner but I never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Not only is this a great image, but I really admire the photographer who created it. You are humble, modest and deserving my friend. Well done.

I would have never guessed, gessman! Lol. It is a very good photograph. I can see why it won.

Well, thank you Tom, I think. I don't know what you've been guessing about but I may be able to help you - I don't wear the pearls. I just use 'em for props. lol.

Thank you kindly sir. I've admired your precision approach to your photography and the outcome. I'm troubled though, You dumped your 5D3, got the p&s, sent it back, but the pics keep on coming. What are you shooting now or are you emptying the archives on us?

Breathtaking photo. Congratulations! You deserve it.

Awwww. Thank you. It was your beautiful face that inspired me, especially your eyes. When I saw one of your self-portraits a few months ago I said to myself, I can't keep wandering in there draggin' them ugly, stinky ol' moose and elk shots and putting 'em up alongside of gorgeous ladies like that. So, I decided to clean up my act and try to be a little more civil. Went to the saloon, got me a bath, a few shots of sarsaparilla and I'm gonna come a courtin'. Here's you a nice rose to go with my apology for benastying the place with the smell of all them critters I've drug in here for you to look at.

My goodness, gessman! I'm not well known for EVER being at a loss for words, but you got me! I thank you for the beautiful words and beautiful red rose!
I will tell you this. I looked at said "stinky ol' moose and elk shots" and I can tell you, as much as I love the gorgeous roses, please don't stop with the critter shots either. You do beautiful work!

I'm sorry ma'am, I shouldn't have been so bold since we've only rubbed elbows a couple of times in the last nearly two years. I apologize for my excessively forward behavior and vow to not do it again. I just lost my head there for a minute.
