What changes (within reason) would you like to see made to this site?

I'd like a button to push, when I upload a photo, that keeps people from being able to right-click and save my photo for their own use, or to 'play with'/modify and re-post!

I would also like, under 'my profile' to have a list of my camera equipment... so that when I upload a photo, I can select the rig I used to create the photograph, instead of being asked all the time what kind of camera or lens did I use... which creates unnecessary postings in a thread.

What changes/additions (within reason) would you like to see made to this site?

I would like to see the photograph section divided into catagories: landscape, flora, pets, etc. This would make it easier to comment on images that are in your area of interest.

I like this... but maybe something like... Macro, Landscape, Portraits, Wildlife, Pets and a section specifically for asking for (technical) photo help, and another asking for PP help.

Someone in another thread, proposed the photos section be broken up into ability categories, Beginner, Intermediate, and Professional... I liked it at the time, but the more I think about it, I don't. I believe the idea in here is for the experienced to help the inexperienced and this type of category would eliminate the purpose.

I'm sure it's not easy re-programming an entire website while it is up and running.
I felt it would be a good idea to let Admin know what people would like, and ideas on how to make it more user-friendly. That way they don't waste their time doing things that we couldn't care less about.

On second thought on this one too, I think all photos should be right-click disabled. Then if the poster wants others to be able to download their photo, click a button (like it is now) to make the full version downloadable. This would probably be easier to program and would eliminate a lot of arguments.

I asked admin about that a while ago and the answer was it was not possible. I have always received an immediate reply to any question I have had for admin.

I think newbies should have to sign off that they read the rules before being allowed to use the site.

I think Admin is giving you a line if they told you it's impossible. I have designed and published websites using simple programming software, and disabled right-click ability.

I completely agree with newbies having to read the rules and sign for it!

With computers there's almost always more then one way to do something. People can always use a screen capture software to copy or download a picture. As far as making people sign off on something, how many of us have read the "rules" before clicking on "I accept" in EULA or terms of use on web sites. I think the idea of a check box for people "to" or "do not" C&C or PP or add your photo is a smart and user friendly idea and will save us from typing it out.

Its so easy to just add a clause to your signature once...saying go ahead make my day...change my photo...or dont mess with my photos...
I would however like my photos protected...I dont know enough tech to say it is possible or not for the site to control that.

I like the site the way it is. This Site is Fairly new and I think who ever is in charge is doing what they can, as this site develops. I have had people edit my photos and post photos on my thread and gotten angry and posted my disagreements with it. Now I send a pm and tell people it's not polite. Not everyone will read the rules and most people get excited when first visiting the site. I have volunteered/run organizations for most of my life and have had people give me a million ideals on how to run Things, their way. I learned long ago if I ask that person to head that ideal up and do it all the worked involved themselves, I no longer got ideals on how I should run the show. Has to be 100 or more sites like this out there, a little different in it's own way. I think the only changes we need are the only changes, the people running the show, see fit to change..

only thing i would like to see changed is the apointment of several moderators here to nip in the bud the flame wars we get, and have the power to ban troublemakers from the site, as well as delete posts and lock down threads. also would still like to know the story behind the site name.

Nothing to say but couldn't figure out how to get the my handle off here after I changed my mind and realized someone already said site was fine but I do like the idea of not having ability categories because it is such a great place to hear both sides of a discussion (not argument notice) and pros and cons on doing different edits to pics and hearing what both pros and amateurs have to say.

Agree that breaking the Photos section into categories would certainly make it easier to follow. With over 10000 users, and ~3000 new posts a day, a new thread falls down the stack very quickly-especially in the Photos section. Since most people seem not to want to browse more than a page or two deep, you miss every thread that hasn't had a new post to it for more than two hours.

It would also be nice to have a characteristic in the Profile section for "Photo Editing OK/Not OK" for you to check off.

Couldn't agree more! Personally, I sometimes get a kick out of some of the heated debates I've seen here, but pleeeezzzz take it to a separate thread and stop hijacking someone post.

I would also like the option of sorting threads by posted date and last response date.
