I guess by now that you've figured out that I like critter shots. We'll get a little variety this time around.

Thanks Richard. I appreciate that. They're not perfect but I can live with 'em 'til I can do better.

Hi tilde. Thank you. I appreciate the compliment. I was about 30 ft from the fox and maybe 40 to 50 ft from the deer. My image is missing that exif data but recalling those moments, I think I'm estimating the distance pretty close. The elk was another matter. I screwed my lens all the way out to 560mm so I was a ways away from him.

Yup, or a lecherous ol' man at a swimming pool. Thanks. He was pretty intense. Right after I snapped the shot he pounced on a field mouse and headed off into the woods with it.

No, I don't think that look is for pleasure, he has a mission to accomplish.

All are great! My favorite is the color contrast of the fox against the gray twigs.

Great shots! I just wish I could've taken a shot of a gray fox that used to visit at about dark each evening. It would eat with one of our cats from a styrafoam tray (proves that they don't eat cats) It was always a little too dark to get the shot. I am considering getting a Canon T3 with a 75-300 mm. lens that I found for a good deal. Hoping to get some better shots with less shutter lag. Yours are great!

Thank you folks. I appreciate all your comments and even though I'm not getting as much criticism as I anticipated, I'm reading between the lines and it's very helpful to see what everyone is responding to. It helps to discriminate in future shot choices although it puts a monkey on my back to take it up another notch when my ol' body is telling me to go the other way. The fox has been an attraction, perhaps because they're not all as readily observable as other animals. I had never seen a silver fox until last year and found one frolicking among a group of red foxes long about mating season. Not sure what that means for the old adage one of my biology teachers used to explain why bluebirds and cardinals don't mate, i.e., "birds of a feather flock..." So much for that unless I'm missing something here that isn't evident.
