The White House says Obama’s electricity initiative, dubbed “Power Africa,” symbolizes the type of cross-continent ventures the president seeks. Backed by $7 billion in U.S. investment, the power program will focus on expanding access to electricity in six African countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria and Tanzania.

Be sure their citizens are given Absentee Voting forms so they can help elect another Dim-ocrat in the next Presidential election.

In the last few months, both in UHH and local newspaper letters to the editor I've seen nothing but disappointment with Mr. Obama.

How stupid are people that after his first term, they again voted for this nin-com-poop (spelled so lots of you can understand)

He has no original ideas to lower our debt, his concerns are for 3rd world countries or middle eastern countries and all our existing and new welfare programs.

This man is a disaster and folks are just beginning to see it.

Thanks Sarge. I thought the first responses would tell me what a racist, uneducated, red-neck I is. I just see things the way they are. Where does this money come from? I thought we as a nation were flat out broke. Better take care of people here in the USA and the hell with the rest of the world.

Nothing really. That was a celebration in New Orleans when the tax payer $$$$$'s flowed in. This is more related to the subject. Are there any of those Obummer phones still around. Maybe we can send them to Africa and eventually the chargers will work.

After the 7+ Billion to get electricity to Africa we can start saving our taxes to buy computers and iPhones and televisions for the TV stations we will have to build and then the internet will have to be developed and then what ?

And why the (#$)q in Africa ?

I can't understand this country's political agenda when we have poverty here and children without food. Oh, I know, the parents like their pot and beer more than healthy children.

I get great feelings, and enjoy being generous and helping people with problems, when I can. I am only able to do these things after my personal obligations are taken care of.

I cannot hope to understand a person (President) who appears blind to the needs of his own constituency while lavishly spending their money elsewhere. He and I are, apparently, on different planets.

I really don't want to keep giving him money...he is NOT a wise spender!

I'm still waiting for someone to show me where in the enumerated powers outlined in the constitution, that our government has the authority to tax us and then give our money to anyone, foreign or domestic.

While there is some debate as to the veracity of this attribution to congressman David Crockett, it is still a great lesson in how our government ought to work...

If I'm not mistaken parts of Appalachia are in need of similar items our esteemed leader would give to parts of Africa. What about the Native Americans that live in conditions like third word nations. Let's start at home. Those billions could be better spent here.

Well after all it's his "home country", well Kenya is his home country (according to Michelle anyway), so I suppose more accurately I should have said it's his home continent. ;)
