Unfortunately I won't be able to frame this shot. Too Much Noise.
Each of the shots of my daughter I took on this shoot had different sets of issues. I'm curious to see what degree of noise shows up so I'm posting it anyway.

I had planned on using fill on this shoot but left my pocket wizard trigger wires at home and was too far away.

I started blowing some of my shots up to 24 by 36. Walmart in my area does these in house now for $25. I was surprised that the colors were spot on(this shot was not blown up). What's funny I had them do some 4X7 and the colors were off. I still won't frame it but I would like to know if you can see the noise in the photo. It was too dark and my ISO was too high. Lesson learned lower the ISO to 100 if you want to blow it up.

She's to smart for that. She's going to medical school after her third year of college(She's getting in early it looks like) She's got looks, brains and a positive attitude. A rare combination.
I shoot her again with studio lighting this weekend and cant wait

Happy thanksgiving by the way to you and Tilde!!!

I can notice the noise in the background, I'm on the cheap little notebook at the moment (to lazy to walk to up the stairs to the office), something looks off on her skin as well, could be noise as well but with this monitor I can't be 100% sure on that (I can't even be 50% sure).

Thanks Rhino
This happens to me all the time. I hate typing on the Iphone. Especially when you do a quote reply and you can't get to the bottom. Recommended to the Admin to create an APP! That's not going to happen anytime soon. The Ipad is a little better. But I'm on the big screen here so eat your heart out. I am trying to usurp each prior post I do in quality. This was as much a test as anything. I didn't look to bad on the screen. But still not a keeper for me.

It is noisy MWAC. Not up to my standards. I was just wondering and decided to post. Thanks for looking. I'm interested in how its showing up on peoples monitors. So your input is appreciated.
Thanks!

hard to tell from the small shot you posted, but it does appear there's a bit of noise in the shadow areas. that's surprising, since the 5D2 has very good low-noise qualities, even at fairly high ISO settings...

Thanks squirrel. Just trying to figure out what my cutoff is on a post. Trying to keep the quality up. It was noisy I only had a few like this. Its a shame when the best shots have technical problems.

removing noise is a fairly simple process with Topaz plugins and Photoshop

Topaz is Great!!! The adjustment you made is very noticable... Picture is wonderully composed to begin with and the reduction in noice really breaths life into it.

All I need is another plugin I've got 5 plugins already. Thanks Photogrl I may do that.

It did seem to clear up the facial noise.

Yep it would work fine on the 5.7 Meg jpeg I have. I might see if the Nic plugins have a noise reduction that will work. I have all of those. Good thing is i have your mini image to compare.
Thanks for taking the time!!

This is a little better, but still some noise when enlarged to 200 percent.

Mike
