You did a great job of touchingup that photo.
She is so photogenic is great that you got the most out of the shot.

I instantly saw a difference in the iris after you lightened her eyes. The right eye (her left) is much lighter than the left (her right). Beautiful child and beautiful picture.

Judy,

You did a terrific job of editing. The second picture is fantastic! It doesn't need any more.

Your granddaughter is beautiful. :-)

Sorry folks but I like he first one best. I bet it is close to the real colors. To me the 2nd one makes her look like she has a sunburn or a fever. I love the B&W. Perhaps just a little more contrast wouls help it. Does everthing have to pop? To my taste very few pictures do. Some of the few are super. - Dave

I keep reading about "pop " the color ?? What is this and how do you do it ? thanks

I asked the exact same question on another post and this was my response to what "they" said.
My interpretation is that when you are talking about "pop" you mean increasing the contrast and saturation. On these pictures
I used levels and high pass, with a little dodge in Photoshop elements.
I was just told by my photographer daughter, who usually won't help me, that the last one I put on was Creepy and she showed me how to use mask and levels to lighten the eyes without using dodge or burn.
I hope that answered your question. Anyone else out there help me out with this one if you have a better answer.
Whew I have a lot to learn.

You might define it as vibrancy, saturation and contrast combined to make the color(s) stand out.

I personally liked your first color edit better than the second. When you lightened her eyes It got kind of a "ghosty" quality (if that makes any sense at all). To me the first edit (second pic in first group) was fantastic.

Creepy was the word my daughter used.
