An interview with Audie Thornburg
1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
About 35 years as a hobby, I shot Rodeo Photography for 8 years and weddings for a short period of time.
2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No formal training to speak of. I have taken correspondence courses and have had some Photographer friends walk me through certain situations. Most of my experience is "On The Job Training".
3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
I Had just dug a drainage ditch beside our driveway, when I came out to work on it some more the next day, there were Mushrooms growing right along side the ditch. I saw a perfect Photo Opportunity.
4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
I used the Nikon D80 with an 18 to 135 zoom. No special setup, just camera protection.
5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
I would remove the Power Pole in the background.
6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
You mean that there is something other than photography? I would probably learn how to play my Banjo better.
7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
Right now I don't have a web page or anything. I'll work on that, and I'll continue posting on UHH.
