Greetings, gang. New here, but been behind the lens for several decades. Here a few recent samples. Hope you enjoy.

First image is some horses on a ridge line on a farm near Havre De Grace, Md.

Second is a bald eagle catching his dinner on the river behind my house.

Third is a night pano of the Delaware Memorial Bridge near Pennsville, NJ.

Jim,

I like your photos. A few minor things I would change. In the first photo I would crop off about 1/2 of the grass, it moves the horizon from the middle of the frame and the sky is more interesting than the grass, at least to me.

In the eagle photo, great timing with that one, I don't know how much you cropped that image but if possible give him a bit more frame to fly into on the left if possible.

The pano is perfect, I would print it and hang it on my wall ;-).

Just my 2 cents,

Eric

Eric, I totally agree with you and I also would hang the bridge on my wall.

Thanks for the comments and sugg.'s - regarding the eagle, that guy sat in a tree across the river from my house for 45 minutes before he finally spied what looked like a good dinner. He took off, flew up river a bit, wheeled around and dive bombed the water. I had the 50D on fast burst/Large JPG, but of course, the darn thing hesitated JUST as he hit the water...and following a bald eagle about a hundred yards away at 50 mph takes a little practice!

I have several of the DMB at night. I actually got turned on to it by a photo on Flikr, and just went to the same spot the other guy was. There are only a couple of good spots for a night photo of the bridge. There's a lot of light pollution on the north side of it, ruins anything from that direction. This was taken from the west bank of the river, in an industrial park. The other shots, from the Pennsville NJ side, are actually better.

Jim,

I would be lucky to get the eagle in the frame, let alone in focus! I hope you get more eagle opportunities soon.

That bridge is stunning, any way to get shots of the bridge while on the bridge, maybe late at night or something? Maybe a long repeating pattern shot of the side rail or of the support wires running up to the towers? I don't know what traffic is like on that stretch of road.

Not much traffic here in NE TN.

I have a few from UNDER the bridge while on a boat, but if you stop your car ON the bridge and get out, the DRBA Bridge Police are all over you like white on rice, afraid you're gonna swan dive off the edge..it happens every few months. The speed limit on the bridge is 50, but if you do less than about 70, you get run over, so you can't really even slow down or the semi's get anxious...

Another great shot. Can you park nearby and do some purposeful walking, with camera and tripod? Maybe after the security people see you are just after photos they will leave you alone?

Just askin',

Eric
