About user:
Occupaion: Retired (kinda-sorta) Interests: Photo, model trains Biography: Although not formally trained in “art”, John has have always enjoyed drawing and sketching. His formal training in drafting and the mechanical sciences have given John a basis for geometric, or abstract creations, and an eye for precision.

Johns' interest in photography started while in college and has progressed / digressed ever since. His formats have been everything from an Instamatic© to a 4”x5” view camera, and now Digital. Having taught adult education photography classes, John concentrated on the “mechanics” of good photography; f-stops, shutter speeds, composition, etc. Then came the portraits and weddings; requisites for many up and coming photographers. The rest is all downhill!!

"Finding my own style has been, and is continuing to be, a constant process of adjustments and integration of my talent, experience and training. It’s a great ride that I don’t really expect to end soon!!"

"As a photographer, I don’t consider myself an “artist”, at least not in the Michelangelo sense of the word. Rather, I consider myself a 'recorder' of things I see and experience; some based on reality, some based on imagination. So, at times, my 'record' doesn’t necessarily reflect 'reality', but rather what I 'see' in my mind’s eye."

When digital came along, John realized that the fun was back in photography. John's travels around the US have led to an exciting collection of galleries.

"You know, far-off lands and exotic travels make for some really great photos!! But I've found that wandering around these 50 states of ours produces the same exotic, exciting images that we get world-wide, and they're all proudly 'Made in the USA'.

We hope you like 'em, tell us what you think...."
