I agree-it's the best of the three.
Still is an aspirational vehicle...(If only my wife would go along with it?)

I've been to CR three times on workshops. You need a longer lens! If that's out of the question, go with the 16-50 and 50-250.... Ideal would be at least 400mm or 600mm (and a macro).
I too am hoping to get to Costa Rica, before long.
This advice makes good sense to me, especially since I have that equipment and might have left the heavy, long lens home.
Thank you very much!
I'm looking at this same scenario over the next few months. We just bought a house in Oregon to be close to our grandaughter and plan to sell our current one in the Spring. I can easily let a lot of the stuff in the house (and garage!) go, but am having real trouble with the 45 years of photo equipment. Children aren't interested, and granddaughter too young.
I suspect it will go to Oregon beneath my wife's radar.
Needles to say, I'm very happy with the equipment I have, especially the D850 and the 70-200 (heavy!) zoom.
(If I could just find a reasonably priced film processing firm, I'd be happy with my Leica M equipment.)
I take pictures because it makes me focus on what I'm finding interesting. In other words, taking pictures help me see the world a little better. Plus its fun!

Thanks for the tip, Sir.
I'd love to go there some time. Horses are entrancing.

Great gets. The "Lost Coast" is a terrific place!
Thanks for asking this question-its been on my mind, but no immediate need. Now I know about Bay.
Thanks again.
Bill
Thank you ricardo00-I've been wondering about this for some. These folks look like they would be terrific.

There's a lot of very pretty scenery along I-68. One especially interesting spot is the Sideling Hill Road Cut where there is an explanation of the geology exposed by the construction of the highway through the "hill"
You might also consider taking a scenic route down the Virginia part of the Delmarva Peninsula-the Seaside Road.
There's a lot to see off the main artery (Route 13-which is slow going and subject to speed traps).
If you go this way, you'll cross both the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (Annapolis to Kent Island) quite a
view and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel (from the Eastern Shore to Tidewater VA) which is spectacular!
Have a fun, safe trip. Bill
What a lot of good advice you all have given Photo Jo. And what an interesting project!
Phot Jo, would you please include a reference to the final product of your work, (I would be interested in Leica lens' that fit M3's).
Thanks, Bill
