While Google searches for a local CVS to have my passport photos taken ($16.99). I found Walmart 'print your passport photo $7.64. So I set up my gears, took my own photos. Load the photos to Walmart to get it printed. Well the final cost was $7.64+$7.99 (Shipping). That was not $7.64 as advertised, so I uploaded my photos to CVS to print. It cost me $1.96 for 4.
Here are simple tricks.
1. Full frame (D750) with 28-85mm lens, on tripod eye level to lens .
2. Face to lens distance, around 5 feet. White background (my home white window shades).
3.Day time, flash on, take a series of photos from 50 to 75 mm. Using Nikon MC-DC2, orML-L3 remote control.
4. Cut a 2" transparency template strip (photo attached), based on the 2x2" photo size on page 5 of the form DS-82
5. Upload photo to computer. Open in Paint3D (came with Window... Windows 10, Window 11). Select 'Canvas' to resize your photo to 4x6 inch (use a pre cut 4x6 template)
6. Select any photo that -your face- matches the size on the 2" transparency strip. Upload to CVS
https://www.cvs.com/photo/prints (print 4x6, 4 to 6 photos, around $2.00).
7. CVS will email you when it is ready. My own experience took less than 4 hrs to get my photos

I'm having issues in LrC processing files particularly with the Denoise AI feature. I have a Sony a7rv 61mp camera. Current PC is a 16gb ram, 8th generation i7, and Nvidia GPU. So the question is what computer system do I need to upgrade to? It's been recommended by some to switch to an M3 Mac Pro such as a MRW23LL/A but I'd like to stick with a pc format. Just looking for more feedback as I'm trying to manage the expense.
TIA.
I believe your PC is a desktop. So, upgrade to 32 GB RAM change SATA SSD to M2 NVme SSD.

How about eliminating the general non-photography chit chat forum? It has absolutely no relevance here. Th3 dialogue spirals into nonsense pretty fast. Me, I’m looking for photography insights here.
No one ask you to open 'Chit chat'.

Do you happen to have any DX lenses with loads of excess coverage beyond 16x24mm ?
I do have one and the Z series refuses to let me use all the image the way my 750 allows. Since its an ultrawide this is verrrry irritating.
Yes, the Nikon 70-300 AF-P, f/4.5-6.3 is usable at 1.2 crop. It is great at DX crop. The Tokina 12-28 mm, F/4 DX is usable at 1.2 crop. and can use at full frame from 16 -28 mm. Even the kit lens 55-200mm f/4-5.6 VRII is usable at 1.2 crop.
I like to use those DX lenses on my D750, easy to carry for 5-6 hrs. My other favorite carried all day FX lenses are AF D 85 f/1.8, AF D Micro 105 mm f/2.8 and the 28-85 mm AF D f/3.5-4.5 from the film SLR years.
Auto DX crop was on accidently (don't know when I did it)
Never mind. I find the solution. I accidently turned on 'Auto DX crop' in 'Image area'.
I checked it 'off'. Now I can crop 1.2 using my DX lenses. I ran through the manual years ago, took me days. Suddenly this remind my age again, 72 y. young
For years I can crop 1.2 x using DX lenses, both Nikon's and Tokina's. But today w/o software update, my D750 auto sets it to 1.5 crop with a DX lens. I just cannot set to 1.2 crop. But I can with a FX lens. Any ideas? Thanks

I got an email from B&H last night telling me that I could complete my order for the Brother laser printer. It should be here on Tuesday. I have several largeish printing jobs waiting for it. The toner that's included won't print many pages, so I'll order more.
Looking at $70 for Epson toner and $10 for generic, I'm wondering. I'm ordering the Epson toner just to play it safe. Do any of you use generic TN760 toner?
Yes, I use generic TN760 for Brother printer. Ink may be less than what it says on Amazon, but the Brother takes it like its own.
