How do you tape a program now? What equipment do you use? My old analog vcr was easy. I get local, network channels with my antenna. Other stuff via internet connection. So, how do you do it?
This discussion about the ChitChat is interesting. It’s the very first section I go for. I like Jerry’s posts. Any posts I don’t like probably go to the attic. I do wish more would post the comics. Also the funny stuff. Jerry keeps the section active and interesting. Jerry, keep it up! You have little to no competition right now. Maybe more of us will post more often as parts of our lives become more interesting and/or we have more questions for the many very talented and knowledgeable members to help us with.
Those folks may very well be suicidal.
We still use Amazon Prime. We do not pay the fee for “No Advertising”. When a movie is listed, if it says “Freeve with ads” we usually skip it unless we are willing to put up with the ads. If it says included with prime it usually has no ads. Last night we watched a movie that said included with prime. It did have a brief ad at the very beginning before the title. That was all. No additional ads for the remainder of the movie. Several other movies listed as included with prime have had no ads at all. Amazon Prime satisfies most all of our movie needs. We should probably get out more often.
I only get the Epoch Times delivered weekly to my mailbox. The rest of the other “News” information I receive is via the internet. The internet news usually puts me in a bad mood. I think I may retire to my cave.
I found the issue of the “door plug” interesting. Apparently some of the attachment holes were misaligned, some bolts were not tightened properly. Do the airlines which have purchased these airplanes not have maintenance crews? Certainly some of these issues can be traced back to Boeing. When you purchase a new car from Ford or Chevrolet or any other new car maker you expect the tires not to fall off. You also expect the doors to not fall off. However, I think that the dealer does/should perform a cursory inspection of the vehicle to verify that the doors and wheels are properly attached. With the current situation of door plugs and front wheels on aircraft not properly secured to the aircraft my expectation of after purchase checklist and current maintenance procedures may be premature. They say flying is safer than driving. Maybe, maybe not. With out a doubt I’m sure flying is safer than diving considering the competence of many drivers out there. They tend to get intoxicated pilots off the planes fairly quickly.
Did you see that the Navy has reduced its education and physical fitness standards in able to meet its recruiting goals? The other branches will probably do the same. I see one test required a score of 50% in order to pass. This all may be media bs, but it is something to think about. Maybe it’s the same test congress has to pass.

My wife and I are both retired CPA’s. We always mail our tax returns “USPS Priority Mail”. Therefore, we always have proof of mailing date and proof of delivery receipt. Remember, the IRS and state taxing authority’s are not your friend’s.
Our dog will not eat pill pockets with a pill in it. Put a pill in a little ball of liverwurst. GONE!
Jerry, most of what you say is accurate. We are close in age. My wife and I both have regular Medicare and a supplement from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Plan F. When we moved from Virginia to Florida we only needed to change our drug plan. Good RX is oftentimes better than our drug plan. When we moved we saw an insurance agent who told us that if we ever received a bill someone screwed up. That has been the case for us. We never receive a bill. No copays, nothing. I understand if you have Plan F you can keep it. If you ever had it you may be able to get it back. No new subscribers. Apparently the US Govt thought we were getting too good a deal. They wanted us to have more skin in the game. We have plenty of skin in the game. Our premiums are quite high and going to get higher. More geezers like us are dying off leaving fewer participants in plan F. There was/is the big push for Medicare Advantage plans. Maybe okay for some. It sounded like a scam to us. Medical care in this country is now run by the large corporations. Guess what their prime objective is?
