It gets really cold at night. Also, beware of altitude sickness. Amazing place, but the view can get a bit monotonous. White as far as you can see. Light reflection can be an issue. We enjoyed it. Check out the Salt Hotel

If you are on a cruise boat, make sure to keep your camera out of your air conditioned space. If not, the lens will get foggy when you go out to the hot tropical environment and you’ll have to wait to take pictures. I found out the hard way.

I have a Sony a6000 that I have been using with the 16-50 kit lens and a 55-210 lens. However a friend has offered me a Sony 18-200 lens for $250 and I'm thinking this may be a good solution for general all around use. I know it is a little big, but I would appreciate any comments from those who have used this lens.

Hi
Sounds interesting. I tried to join, but got a message that the site was locked due to too many replies. Now, that’s success

I was there in September of 2018. Aside from the amazing scenery and the frequent rain, we saw an amazing Aurora Borealis, near Reykjavik. Read up on camera settings for the Aurora and make sure to bring your tripod. By the way, the Aurora just appeared, put on a great display of lights, and, just like that, went away

You could save your finished photos to your IPAD, if you have one. In the edit mode, you can add captions. It’s a bit awkward, but it works. You can load your edited IPAD images to most book formats.

Any IPad is a good travel companion to store your photos, while traveling. However, I would no longer rely on any camera connect app. The Apple USB-C to SD Card reader works amazingly well. It is inexpensive (less than $40) and small. There are also several after market units that are much cheaper, but I don’t have any experience with them. I wish I had my card reader when I went on my African Safari.

My IPad has 100s of empty Canon Albums, created mysteriously. I suspect that this is caused by Canon Camera Connect. I tried to delete them, but this must be done one at a time and it is tedious. It almost seems that, as I delete them, they multiply. It’s like a zombie album plague. Has anybody else experienced this? Are there any practical solutions? Thank you.

I have many duplicates on my IPhoto and Lightroom folders. Can someone suggest an effective app or process for removing duplicates? I see several apps in the App Store, but I have not found one that works. I must have close to 14,000 photos, of which, at least 1500 are duplicates. Thanks for your suggestions.

You may be able to book a tour or a hike with a private party, not a ranger. Google it. Bears are an issue. If you hike, you should carry bear spray, at least that’s what we were told in Glacier and I know that there are lots of bears at Yellowstone.

You can easily download to an iPad with a card reader made for iPad. You can also do it via the WiFi app, but it only downloads small jpeg versions. The card reader downloads full raw files. There are several tablet based processing apps, but, in my opinion, the best is Lightroom. An iPad is a great complement to your desk top and a lot cheaper than the MacBook Pro. Make sure you buy the one with lots of memory. I have the IPad Air third generation.

I own the Sony 24-240 and find that it is a pretty sharp lens. It is a full frame lens, but it works with my a6000. I bought thinking that if I ever shift to a Sony full frame camera, I’ll have a decent lens. It is a bit heavy on the a6000
