My photos are mostly mostly ‘snapshots’ or ‘photos of opportunity’. I don’t really consider myself anything other than an amature. Not really much into the ‘art’ of photography. I don’t go out to do photo shoots. I am primarily a trail hiker, and at age 87 try to do between four and seven miles, two or three times a week. I always have my DSLR on an OPTECH shoulder harness, and mainly take pictures of the scenery or birds, animals, wildflowers I see along the way. Other than cropping, and a bit of sharpening, noise removal, etc. I don’t do much post processing other than trying to make it reflect the scene as I saw it. Obviously, I do try to notice things that might mske a nice picture, and my friends and family profess to enjoy what I post on Facebook. (Note..in my trying to show what I have seen on a hike, I have NEVER done a sky replacement)
Probably best to Copy the original file to another folder and then rename the copy.. that way OP won’t chance ‘losing’ the original
I made some of the same points Witt MATTK. I hike and take nature photos ibirds, wildflowers (hierarchical )etc, geotagging them all in the Map tool. I like to go through my total catalog, to see in which months, and where, I have seen what. Not possible in LR. I just have different needs for my photos than Matt does, so LRClassic for me most of the time. Digital Asset Managment is important to me
Perhaps they are interested in something which has a broad spectrum, but is interested in answers from the perspectives from narrow category of individuals (e,g photographers), rather than overly broad technical references)
My ‘walking around’ is on four to seven mile trail hikes in Florida. Primary reason is for exercise, but always carry a camera. Many of my hikes are in a group and many of the photos are taken ‘on the fly’. My primary walk around lens is a 18 to 400, so that I can capture long range wildlife, closeup wildflowers, or broad landscapes as I come across them.
If Your being at the location was for some primary purpose other than taking a specific photo, then the photo is one that results from time—location -subject ‘luck’.
I location tag my photos using syncing the .GPX file from my tracker epwith the time on my photos, so yea, I do change the time on my camera.
I take mostly nature photos, pretty muchon the fly during regular hiking outings in Florida. Once a week I select a photo from my ‘library’ and post it on Facebook for my friends. I probably spend more time on cropping than anything else. Then some limited toning, color adjustment etc. I almost never remove anything. The snapshot is pretty much as I saw it. Obviously just an armature/casual photographer, but love Lightroom for the digital management and quick fixes/adjustments on photos. I sometimes use Topaz to sharpen, if the detail in a particular photo is important
I was having the same problem a few moments ago. Couldn’t go from LR to ‘Edit In’ Photoshop. Nor could I get out of LR and open PS alone. Windows 10. Did a ‘restart’ still nothing. Fully powered down, the powered on a few minutes later, and PS worked OK
I dropped my well used Canon 90D, and was seeking a new one from B&H. Just received notice from that the 90D has been discontinued. What a shame. It was, in my humble opinion an excellent camera, and Worked well with my collection of EF and EFS lenses from Canon and Tamron. Sad day.
My primary fix is cropping. Most of the photos Intake and share with my family and friends in social media are taken pretty much ‘on the fly’, particularly when hiking with a group. I may slightly enhance, color, trcture, exposure, etc on the raw photo, but the result comes pretty much like what Saw while hiking, be it cloudy or non cloudy skies, treelims, etc. I don’t normally do any deletions, replacements, etc. my friends see pretty much what I saw.
I find it more difficult to hold the camera steady when not held up flush with my face.

Over the years I have taken a few pictures that I think at least approach being art. I sometimes think about giving framed copies as gifts (I've shared most of the pics that would be candidates on this forum) but then I start to wonder if that isn't just ego run amok. Does anyone else have a similar quandary.
Several year ago our family started z ‘white elephant’ gift exchange where one could ‘steal’ another’s gift. The cost was limited to $20. I started giving between 5 and 10 unframed 8x10 prints. They have always been a hit, and sought after.
