If you carry a cellular phone, why do you wear a watch?

I quit wearing a watch the day I retired fro the Air Force in 1987. Shortly after that my son gifted me a flip phone and I have owned a cell phone ever since. I use a iPhone since my computer and tablet are all Apple products. I often leave my phone in the house when I am working in my shop or outdoors. Usually only carry it when traveling. After all, I am retired and time is relatively unimportant.

At his last weigh-in, at 15months, he was 90lbs. I think there must be something in the water. Of course, he sleeps anywhere he damn well pleases!

I have two, weighing about 40lbs each and they both try and get lap time at the same time. To add to the mix I have just gotten a pup. Currently mayhem around here. The big dogs aren’t particularly happy sharing with the pup.

One thing that people do not understand about Military charities is that when a Veteran is hurt while he is doing his duty, the Fedeal Government pays for all his medical bills and needs for the rest of his life. So I would like to find out how much money these Veteran charities are getting from the American people and how much the board that runs the charities are getting for their salaries out of the money they collect from people. I bet you that it is quite staggering.

Absolutely not true!! As a disabled veteran, I know better! A vet has to pretty much fight for any benefits and benefits are based on their percentage of disability. About the only vets that get “all their needs” taken care of are 100% disabled.

I have been fighting for several years to get my VA disability rating changed from 60% to 100%. Currently the VA pays for my medical prescriptions (not OTC meds) and medical services. I have extreme difficulty walking and have zero balance. I have had to, out of pocket, build a ramp to my front porch and pay to have some assist bars installed in my bathroom.

I will say, however, that Texas takes very good care of their veterans. They also have the state government funded Texas Veterans Commission which is an excellent interface between Texas veterans and the VA, resolving many issues.

My rant.

Try installing RoboKiller. I’ve had it for a number of years with no issues. It has some interesting features. It may let one or two spams come through in a week, they are easily blocked.

Another thought, I have a magnetic charger by my bed. About the only time my phone is out of my pocket is at night, charges while I sleep.

Changes are coming from Google. I don't like having to access my phone to continue because I seldom have my phone turned on when I'm home. I have to find the phone, turn it on, and wait for it to boot.

Starting December 14, or soon after, when you try to sign in with a password, you'll need to complete a second step on your phone, so we can make sure it's really you signing in. After entering your password, you'll simply confirm a sign-in prompt on your phone or get a code to enter.

1. My phone is never turned off.
2. My phone is always in my pocket.
No issues, no problems. I move around d a lot so keeping my phone handy is beneficial.

Been using Apple products since 2003, both at work and at home. For various reasons I have had to update my passwords a number of times.

Never an issue: A few mouse clicks, a code sent immediately (may take a few seconds to receive), a few more mouse clicks and done. Never more than five minutes to update.

The one time, several years ago, that I did have a problem, a quick phone call to Apple resolved the problem in about ten minutes.

My gripe is the use of “no problem”. When I tell someone “thank you” I wold like a “you’re welcome”. “No problem” suggests there could have been a problem.

Jerry, I have been using Viasat for the last 4 years and I am very pleased with them , I had Hughes Net when I moved here when I called for the re-installation the contractor never returned any of my three calls, I canceled H/N had a little trouble but they finally sent me a box with return shipping paid and I returned their equipment.
I called Viasat and my installation was completed the next day.

Hughes Net and Abe’s of Main. Run away from both. My son in law signed up with Hughes Net when we first moved to NE Texas. Terrible service and even worse support. Rude customer service. He cancelled and it took months and the threat of a lawsuit before they finally closed the account.

You must be one lonely man, Jerry I base my opinion on reading some of your posts/complaints.

Because I drive a pickup (my only means of transportation) you consider me a redneck? Get off of your self righteous high horse! I live in the country and my 3/4 ton crew cab pickup is a multi purpose vehicle and my only vehicle.

Whether taking my grandkids to a movie, grocery shopping or hauling hay for horses, my pickup is invaluable. Many people drive 4x4 or “lifted” truck’s because of rough terrain (in Arizona where I used to live and now in east Texas). Yes, some drive trucks with extreme lifts and oversized tires.

Yes, us all inclusive, lower class rednecks driving pickups do look bigger in your rear view mirror. And yes, some, a very few do tailgate. Speaking of tailgating, I see more cars doing tailgating far more than pickups. My truck is neither a 4x4 or lifted. When a car comes up so close behind me all I can see is his windshield, he is too close. Especially considering where I live in east Texas, the common speed limit is 70mph.

Most drivers around here are pretty courteous. Those that tailgate will usually pass you at their first opportunity regardless of your speed.

So, I am, in your opinion, a low class, 80 year old, truck driving, tailgating, redneck. So be it.
