I remember doing that....and the consequences of powering down if the heads were not "parked".
The first drive I remember working with was 10mb, and it could be partitioned to 5mb, and even 2mb!
We were all jazzed when a new model was introduced with a whopping 110mb with a 14inch platter, which, I thought, would be big enough for anything.
Just purchased a re-furbished d7200.....it has yet to arrive, to replace my 8 year old d3100.
I am looking for: better rear screen, much better auto-focus system, bracket button (a minor want), higher frames-per-second (for birding). I am a little concerned about the additional weight of the 7200....I plan to attach my Tamron 18-400mm while on a trip to New Zealand in a few months and will probably be without mono/tripod for much of the trip.
How much memory does your existing system have? Additional memory might help....
I don't think it is possible. Most hardware devices, particularly IO devices, need device drivers for operation. Without them, the hardware would not know what is needed....read, write, address locations of cells on the SSD, etc.
Very nice set! I love the sharp focus!
Yes....Merlins or Packards on the P-51s, Pratt-Whitney on the P-47s and allisons (I think) on the P-38s. But I like the Merlins sound!
Very nice set! I can almost hear those Merlin engines....
I also have been shooting RAW, after a few years with only JPEG. I am new to Lightroom, and discovered that I have more editing options (white balance, etc.)
with RAW files.
Very nice shot! They are amazing birds.

A Photographer can make an award winning image with any camera. The technology is irrelevant, the technician's eye behind the viewfinder is what matters.
A local photography group in my area used to invite professional/serious amateurs to shoot with point&shoot film cameras that used to be available at grocery stores when film was still dominant....they called the event the "plastic fantastic". Some of the images produced were really amazing!
Very nice!!! They are amazing animals....can hunt in total darkness...unbelievable sense of sight and hearing!
Did it move off when it noticed you?
Thanks!
Your shot of the the Haleakala Volcano in Hawaii is amazing!
Three shots of the Mendenhall Glacier taken 3 years ago.....I wish I had not been at 1600 and had had a tripod with me!
Thanks for the information!
