Those are a nice set, I am just starting into taking Milky Way shots from here in Greece. This is my first ever attempt at taking a shot of the milky way from my backyard in Nea Koroni, I think I could have gotten a better pic from my farm but didn't feel like walking 2 miles at the time, planning a shoot to try again. I took mine with an 18-135mm on a canon sl1 at 18mm f/3.5 20 sec 600 iso. Still trying to figure out the settings

I created a logo with Photoshop and turned it into a watermark, I used this guys video to help me out somewhat. This is a good idea if you are processing multiple photos, good luck and happy shooting.

You have better stuff than Ansel (with whom I studied) had--a camera is a box with a hole in it, and since computer driven lens grinding they are all a lot closer than most realize--don't think of switching until you face a problem and are saying "I really need---". Having said that I'll add, a good tripod, a remote release, and a good lens shade all really do make a difference--one you can see.

Thank you, Stan, yes I have already purchased a carbon fiber tripod( budget friendly of course), a Vello remote release and I already have the lens hoods for my lenses.

Try downloading a free copy of Malwarebytes and run it on your laptop, sometimes malware and hidden bloatware from certain websites gets on your computer and forcefully slows it down. My mother's laptop had the same problem, I came in defragged and cleared all caches and cookies, still was slow as molasses. After running Malwarebytes, it found 1000 + unwanted items. after cleaning it up, her laptop is in tip-top shape and now my dad uses it. She got a new one for Mama's day couple years back. Just a suggestion to try before running out and spending money on a new machine. Or at least making it work, as back up for trolling the interwebs, while using your new machine to do P.P. and what not.

If you need help, feel free to message me and I can help walk ya through it.

Very nice photos, I am still learning as well and loving the hobby too. However I think you are farther along than I am, have not gotten good shots like that yet. I hope you continue with this wonderful hobby.

Greece has gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. Was there twice many years ago. Loved it and the Greek people.

Now you know another Greek from there, and the next time you come visit, you can come have a coffee in my village.

Hi,

I notice a lot of great advice here and some not so great. I am an avid fan of photography and learning all my new wonderful camera gear. Until you decide on what kind of Camera you plan to upgrade to and the budget you are willing to spend on it. I might have a suggestion, though I have never used it on my phone, I found a list of apps for Android that might help you out. They take over your camera and allow you to adjust shutter speeds, exposure and what not. You can try them out and see if it works for you, however, I would recommend upgrading to a camera for other photo opportunities with the kiddos. Here is a link to 4 apps that allow you to manage Android camera settings. I have not tried them but I hope they work for you in a pinch till you decide.

Just research a bit more for your Android device, since I do not know its version.

Good luck and Happy Shooting.

Is this the 1.8 STM version? I am looking to get one my self and I have found a local here that is selling it for 70. I am just wondering as well if I can use this for landscapes and astrophotography shots. Alos great shot of the pup.
