To everyone who participated in this challenge, you have my thanks. I have been unable to gain access via my computer, so have not been able to view the last few pages well enough to comment on your submissions. I am sure they are all beautiful, and will take a closer look when I get back home.

We bought some property last year that is heavily wooded and filled with granite boulders (this is New England after all) and many of the old trees that tried to grow on top of the granite ledges have been blown over to reveal their root systems which had grown out flat over the granite and now that they are exposed have developed into small ecosystems of moss ferns and fungi. The tree in this posting is facing a direction which keeps the underneath of the root system in the shad all day. The sun never reaches it. Although we will be clearing the actual tree I am going to leave this overturned root system as it is.

Interesting ecosystem! Nice captures.

K5, huh, Zudith? .... Love, Love, Love that dig cam ... thinking of getting a used one for just a couple hundred ... good buy, I think ...

Is that your fave, or do you like the K-7 better (or, the K-20) .... ???

BTW, Zudith ... an afterthought ... you keep up that Daily Walk ... that's very good for you - ok?

I like the K-5 better than either the K-7 or K-20. My son now has the K-20 and I sold the K-7 on eBay a couple of years ago. After reading reviews for the K-1 and other newer Pentax cameras I was enthusiastic about upgrading, but not about the cost!
And yes, I intend to keep up the walking (usually 4 to 6 miles a day) as long as I can - and will keep taking pictures along the way!

It's nice to know that some things are still green - even if you have to hunt for them!

I cannot tell one mushroom from another but they still fascinate me, so I tend to look for them when roaming in the woods

Mushrooms are so graceful and delicate!

Pg.12 Another nice set Zudith. I like the deer and the blooms.

Thanks, SpyderJan! I know I should be enjoying whatever season I am in, but going back through my photos really makes me look forward to Spring!

My husband and I have owned a K-20, K-7, and K-5. I still have the K-5, and would happily upgrade to a newer Pentax if not for two things: 1) I am retired and have to limit my expenses. 2) I am 70 and carrying all the lenses has become a painful chore, so now I will keep my K-5 for special occasions and carry my Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ1000 when I go for my daily walk.
