Just a single photo through a Tiffany Glass Apple that I've had around for years... I saw an add for a glass globe for similar use which sparked the idea for this photo...

Thanks for the iJustine referral... I have already watched her videos and they are partially responsible for me wanting a 2019 Mac Pro. The 5,1 Cheesegraters spoiled me on build quality and expansion... I have an upgraded dual processor unit that is still very capable although it seems as if IOS Mojave is the end of the line for it currently. The 2019 Mac Pro just takes everything so much further.

While I have no real need nor can I otherwise rationalize the purchase, I'm seriously thinking about a new 2019 Mac Pro with modest components because it would please me just to have it. I may even consider selling my 2013 6,1 and 2010-2012 5,1 Mac Pros... Although I've kept a couple of capable Windows 10 PC's for access to several PC specific business programs and data archives, I believe the Mac OS is superior and the right choice for my needs in retirement.

You can drive yourself crazy with Cinebench, Geekbench, and Blackmagic Disk Speed Test Utilities while constructing a specialized PC and still not have the most bad-assed computer on the block for long.

I've gone back and forth more than a couple of times, however, now that I'm retired and don't need a PC to run work related programs, I have settled in with Mac's. Of course my OCD personality took over and I have a new iMac 27 i9 to go with my 6-Core 2013 6,1 Trashcan Mac Pro and highly upgraded 12-Core 2010 5,1 Cheesegrater Mac Pro.

I picked up a Leica CL about a year ago with the 18-56mm f3.5-5.6 and the 23mm f2 lenses and enjoy its simplicity. I have a Sony A7R3, A7M3, and several A6xxx's with a couple dozen lenses when I want complexity. I could have added an A9 and another GM lens for the cost of the CL and its lenses but became obsessed with having a Leica although not an M something. Do whatever makes you feel good.

You know what they say, you can't please all the people all the time. But, there is some truth in what you say. There's more to UHH than 2 forums; you may want to give the topic specific forums a try, plus, you've been here for 8 months and only posted 44 times. Maybe a little more contribution on your part would be nice...

I don't know about anyone else but I am growing weary of what lens to take to ???, what about 42nd Street Camera, Nikon versus Canon, is Crop Sensor equal to Full Frame, and the never ending photos of birds and flowers...

I've been following the Sony A7R3 blog on Facebook and find its content and photos vastly superior... the other Nikon blogs are not bad either.

I'm sure I will be receiving a lot of hate postings back, however, I'm confident that others feel much the same way...

A number of contributors to this site seem to beat the drum for Adorama's biggest competitor in New York City. (I get it; I bought my last two Nikon DSLR's from the competition.) I have not had any dealings with Adorama....yet; however, I have been having some challenges with their competition lately and a lot of those challenges seem to have started happening when the competition shifted from the Big Brown Truck to handle their shipments to Fedex Ground. If Adorama's competition is telling me/promoting that I get 2 day expedited shipping to my area, why is it taking Fedex Ground 3 days or more to deliver? I get a tracking number, I track my order for delivery, my order requires a signature at times so someone has to be there to sign. I try not to burden anyone else here to do that, they have days off too. But, when you get a delivery date, you arrange your whole schedule and day off around being there to accept and sign for the order, and nothing happens by 2 pm; and you go on line, do another order tracking and discover the delivery has been rescheduled to the following day, that really rankles me!!!!

I have found FedEx delivery notifications to be unreliable. I have had several instances of a signature being required on a certain date and then having delivery attempted on a day earlier or later, with little or no advance notice... I suppose it may sound odd to complain about an earlier date, however, the notifications say delivery will occur before 8:00 PM which ties me or my wife up for the entire day and requires a little planning. I rarely have a problem with UPS and the accuracy of their notifications. B&H needs to give weight to how many folks look at FedEx as it has caused me to shift my purchasing choices; and I have spent over $15k this year alone on photographic gear (mostly Sony).

This is not about which is the better system at the moment, they each have some pluses and minuses. However I do think mirrorless is the future.

I'm a dyed in the wool Nikon shooter but I tried most of the other brands. Past Olympus and Panasonic use has wet my appetite for some of the features of ML, which I won't go into now. I'd be using one now if it wasn't for the excellent Nikon IQ and my selection of F mount lenses.

I have been patiently waiting for a ML Nikon and got excited about the news of an upcoming Nikon ML camera...but then reality set in. I have the greatest respect for Nikon engineering but what is the likelihood of knocking it out of the park with their first FF ML release...not very likely. After all Canon with all its resources hasn't done such a great job with their ML attempt.

Sony is a huge company with far more resources than Nikon. They have made phonemical progress in recent years and currently are the undisputed leaders in 35mm FF ML cameras. Sony's A7 III, A7RIII and A9 are game changers...and based on past performance they won't be resting on their laurels.

I've been looking at recent reviews of Nikon to Sony smart adaptors and though not without short comings they seem to work. So I have decided to stick my toe in the ML water and ordered an adaptor along with a A6300 camera. I chose this camera partially because of cost with lens so if the adaptor doesn't work out I can still use the combination as a pocket camera.

If this works out I will be gradually making the transition.

I started with a NEX6 over three years ago and progressed to an A6000 and then an A6300 as they were released; and kept them all. I wasn't too interested in the A7 series originally but picked up an A7II about six months ago and then an A7RIII a couple of months later. I had a Nikon 850 on preorder which I cancelled shortly before ordering the A7RIII. I have nine or so FE lenses but haven't invested in the larger 2.8 zooms as it was my desire to keep the size and weight down. Although I'm heavily invested in Nikon gear, I find myself using the Sony cameras much more often. I've more or less decided to sell most, if not all, of my Nikon gear and expand my Sony inventory of cameras and lenses. Most of my FE lenses I've acquired are Zeiss or Sony/Zeiss and I look forward to my first Sony G Master lenses which I will acquire as I sell my Nikon gear. For a time I felt that it would be worthwhile to wait for the Nikon ML camera, however, I feel that Sony's technology may be hard to match or surpass. I'm also sure that a new lens mount will come with the Nikon ML with an adapter for their DSLR lenses which for a while seemed a way to go. I know I'll take a bit of a beating on selling the Nikon gear but then again I look at it as the cost of progress. I see many posts pro and con between the DSLR and Mirrorless cameras, however, I don't see many DSLR users that have moved to an A7RIII, A7III or A9 saying they are moving back to DSLR's.

I will turn 75 shortly but I have cancer. Last fall I did trade all my Nikon DX gear (D7000 and a mix of DX & FX lenses) for a Fujifilm X-T2. It's a great little camera because it is light in weight even though it is nearly all metal. So that leaves me with a D750, Tamron 24-70, Tamron 150-600, and a Nikkor 16-35 N, VR. I really need some sort of macro lens and now I am leaning toward a macro that will fit the Fuji X-T2.
Just curious. Why would you add an A7III to your collection if you already have a 42MP A7RIII (which does not have an AA filter).?? My tendency would be to get the A7RIII and be done with it.

Because I plan on selling my older technology A7II and want to maintain two full frame bodies. It was a toss up between an A7III and A9.

If I was a lot younger, I would be inclined to do the same - switch to Sony.

I'm 72 and in the middle of making the change... I absolutely love my A7II, A7RIII, A6300 and A6000 along with the Zeiss and Sony/Zeiss lenses that I have accumulated with them. I plan to add an A7III and more lenses as time goes on.

There was a time that I was very fond of my D500's, DF, D750 and D810 and all the gear that went with them, however, my fondness is waning as I use the Nikon gear less and less in favor of the Sony gear.

I am thinking about upgrading to a full frame camera and like the price point that the Nikon D750 is at. I have thought about the new Sony, A7III however with the current pricing on the Nikon is tough to pass up. I will most likely buy with the 24-120 offered and at some point use the cash saved to buy another lense most likely a long range zoom.

I have done a fair amount of research and would like to know if some of you have had real time experience with this camera and what you think? I know they have had a few issues with the 24-120 lense and some initial firmware problems.

Any thoughts would be appreciated?

The D750 is aging technology... the Sony A7III and more costly A7RIII are current advanced technology. I've been a Nikon user since 1972 and currently have a Nikon DF, D750 and D810 and Sony A7II and A7RIII and plan on selling all my Nikon gear (a lot) and moving completely to Sony.

You guys are funny. This site started out with a question about Sony a6000 for $699.00 and like the old kids birthday party game "Telegraph" now we are talking about $5000.00 Lecias.

[quote=Smolakid6X]Hey, pardon me, are you referring Sony Alpha series cameras as the Dark Side. Kinda like Lays Potato chips where you can't eat just "1".
With an Alpha Camera, you can't take just "1" photo or am I completely bonkers? Thanks[/quote

Yes to the Dark Side but no to just "1" photo... should be not just "1" camera... I drug out my D810 and one of my D500's the other night and took some moon photos through an 80-400mm f4.5-5.6 G lens. The moon was very bright and it took me a few trial and error photos to get the exposure dialed in and all the time I was thinking how much easier it would have been to use my Sony A7RIII. Unfortunately I do no have an 80-400mm native Sony lens yet. I even went so far as to make a comprehensive list of all my Nikon gear with the thought of finding how much it was worth to KEH or others which would allow me to add an A7III and A6500 to my inventory of Sony gear along with most of the native lenses I want. I've been a Nikon guy back to the early 70's and have a very emotional attachment to my Nikon gear which I have kept current, however, it may be time to reinvest. I also have to be very careful not to allow my Nikon list to get into my wife's hands. I'm sure there will be many DSLR entrenched Hogger's on here that will think I'm crazy and that's OK... I can accept that I'm a 72 year old with OCD that still rides HD Motorcycles.
