Last day in London --

Pretty much everyone knows who built it & what went on at this interesting place.
So I'll skip all the history stuff.
If you take a close look (#8) you will see that even the Crows march in-step at the Tower.
1-9 = Tower.
Really felt that one good English Lion (#9) deserved yet another --
#10 was taken at Hampton Court the day prior.

OK, I've wanted to tell this story for years. Sometime in the 1990s I was visiting London. I had with me my vintage 1969 Asahi Spotmatic. I noticed a Beefeater standing guard outside the building containing the Crown Jewels. One of his shoes was untied. A definite once-in-a-lifetime shot! Except that the camera would not fire! I banged the camera against my opposite palm. I shook the camera. I tried again. And again. It never fired again. When I got back to the States I bought a new SLR. Canon. I used that SLR for several years, then went digital with a Rebel XTi, and now a 70D. But I'll never get a photo like the one I missed.

I spotted this little one resting, not too far from mom, in Custer State Park. Shot hand held with a Tamron 150-600 G2 lens zoomed all the way out.

I forget what time of year they do the roundup. We accidentally stumbled across that cool event years ago during a visit to Mt Rushmore and environs.

It's interesting how viewing the DL version is MUCH better on some shots. On others, it doesn't seem to make a difference. this is the former.

Agreed.

I was out riding with my cousin and his wife, when he told me there was a mill nearby that he thought I'd be interested in. We went there and I took about 10 exterior shots. My favorite was this shot of the entire mill:

A few days later, feeling regrets over not trying to go inside, I went back. The second shot is what I found. The regrets linger. It takes more than "being there"; you have to get off your butt and do something.

It's like seeing something at Costco. If you like whatever it is, you'd be well advised to buy it now. It's likely not to be there next time if you wait.

Nice angle.

Thanks. This was the only angle available to me. All I did was crop and sharpen.

I love the starkness of the scene offset by a splash of color. The long shadows created by the late evening sun helps accentuate the round containers. This one is a keeper. Good work.

Thank you.

Just got the programme through for my local club next season. Our 2nd competition is TYPICALLY BRITISH.

I've got a few ideas but I'm thinking that what I'm thinking is what a lot of others are thinking too.
So I'm asking Hedgehoggers (non U.K.) what do you think is typically British?

I'm thinking of RAIN, Sports Car (AH Frogeye Sprite or TR6), Red Telephone Kiosk (though none have phones in these days), Old London Bus, Full English Breakfast, Afternoon Tea etc.

Looking forward to hearing what 'forgieners' have to say!

It's my first year in the Intermediate classification and I want to make a statement.

Thanks.

Properties - Details tab gives EXIF data

Ah. My question was imprecise. What I've been doing is double clicking a thumbnail, which on my system brings up a larger, editable display of the photo in Windows' Photos app, then right clicking to the File Info tab. That no longer works.

Thanks for the info!

I store photos in Windows' file system. If I double click on a photo it is displayed. Until about three days ago on my Windows 10 laptop if I then right-clicked in that photo I got a menu that included "File info." Selecting File info gave me EXIF data like date the photo was taken, camera used, and exposure settings.

Suddenly that is no longer the case. Selecting File info now causes the menu and photo to simply close.

Can any of you tell me what happened and how I can fix it. By fix it I mean get it to work the way it used to.

Thanks for any help,

Jerry

It is amazing how popular Pentax was with the military, it seems that for many of you guys stationed overseas in the 60's and 70's this was a very popular camera.

The Asahi version was available in the PX in 1969. Against the advice of my buddy the base photographer I bought the Spotmatic instead of the SRT-101, which cost $20 more. Minolta lenses cost more, too. But as a result I spent the next 20+ years with the screw mount lenses (Takumar 50 mm and 135mm).

quickly, when looking at state parks, (by the way it is Pipestem State Park) by planning early almost all have really nice cabins, however you need to plan early, they fill up quickly. Check out the Highland Scenic Highway in the area going north through the eastern national forests. Cass Scenic Railroad is also a must in the fall.

Remember to take a hat to shield you from coal embers in case you ride one of the open cars on the Cass Scenic Railroad. I speak from experience.
