To userID. Now that I think about it, I could have gotten two pizzas for the price of the lens. Story of my life; "a day late & a dollar short".

Wife & I went to a local flea-market this morning for a look around. I found a like-new f2.8 28mm Starblitz AUTO MACRO MC lens. After some hesitation and some discussion I purchased it for $15. I can't find much info about this lens so I'm looking to the hedgehog community for any available knowledge. I believe it has a PK mount so I can easily fit it to my mirrorless camera if it is worth the effort & price of an adapter. Let me know what you think.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Memorial Day is a day when we pause to remember those who gave everything so you and I can spend our lives in peace. Something happened to me a few weeks go that I didn't give much thought to at the time but Memorial Day brought it back to me.

I was in a store and happened to glance at the entrance. A man entered, much like me, old, tired, bent and a bit rough around the edges. What caught my eye was his U. S. Marine Retired cap. As he looked at me he must have noticed my U. S. Army Retired cap. He straightened his posture, touched his cap with his fingers, smiled and nodded to me. I did the same back. Then we each went on about our business. For a few moments we were brothers again. I remember.

Outside our front door is a beautiful flowering tree. Some sort of Crab Apple I believe. In the Spring it gives us pleasure to look at. In the fall, however, the Canada Geese flock to the tree to eat the crab apples lying on the ground. They then leave their large deposits on the street, sidewalk, yard, driveway, deck and anything outside. Maybe in the fall I will take a few photos & post just for illustrative purposes of course.

I had a dog named Bogey, A black & tan Shiba Inu. He didn't like people very much, unless of course, they had a treat. Then he would tolerate them as long as they were feeding him. He would snap at people it they irritated him too much. He got me more than once. Any yet as he got old he took to sleeping between my wife and myself at the foot of our bed and would let me pet him just a little bit. In the latter part of his like he would even let me pick him up and place him on the foot our bed to sleep. He never did do more than just tolerate people though. I still miss his ornery hide.

I woke up early to a bright sunny day. Cold as a ***** but still beautiful. Decided to go to my favorite park to photograph deer early & then switch to raptors about nine thirty or ten when they usually decide to hunt. Not a deer or raptor to be seen so I switched to trees. The first photo I took last week but added anyway.

The T70 camera was introduced in 1984 & was touted as a giant leap forward in the automatic camera world. It was declared "the camera of the year" in Europe. It also was one of the last cameras to use the FD mount. In 1987 Canon switched to the EF mount system. I don't remember if the T90(1986/87?) was FD or EF.

This camera works mechanically as it should. I've tested it in every way I could except shooting with film. Both the camera & the attached lens are in excellent condition with few, if any, blemishes. The lens focus ring is smooth and turns easy. The aperture ring feels a bit stiff but works properly.

The 50mm lens pictured separately is for parts or repair. The shutter blades are frozen. No end caps.

Camera & attached lens - $60 plus postage (ser. # 4091021 & 8114539)

Separate 50mm F1.8 lens - $15 plus postage (ser. # 3658254) Mfg. code V711

Found one of my favorite birds to photograph this morning. The Red-tails are plentiful in my area this year, especially in the park I like to hunt in. This I believe is a young one, although, mature enough for the tail to be full red. She let me get within about 30 feet of her which is really unusual.

If you get a chance to watch the Documentary Film "Bad-Axe" please do. This is a film by a young filmmaker named Seiv. I think his first name is John but don't remember for sure. It is about the trials and tribulations of his father Chun Seiv during the covid pandemic who lives in Bad Axe, a small town in the thumb part of Michigan. He & his wife Rachael Run a small restaurant there, & have raised their children there. I know a bit of his history because he once owned a Tae Kwon Do studio near where I lived. Both my son & I trained there and received our black belts there many years ago.

As a child of 12 or 13 Chun survived "The Killing Fields" of the Khamer Rouge(sp?). He rescued his mother and sisters and guided them many miles by night across the border to a church sanctuary. His family was sponsored by a church group, brought to the U.S. and settled in the town of Romeo, MI where I first met him. His fathers fate is still unknown but assumed to have died in The Killing Fields.

This is the toughest man I have ever know in every possible way. When I knew him he slept only 3 or 4 hours a night because of the nightmares of the horrors he survived. I plan to see the film.

I currently have a 400mm lens for sale here on "the hog" as many of you know. I recently also listed it on Facebook. Since the listing on Facebook I have had 3 people say they want to buy the lens, pay me up front my asking price and give me $100 dollars postage to send it to a "friend" in New York. My instinct tells me this smell bad. So far I have refused their overly generous offer. Am I paranoid or not? I was raised to believe that if it sounds too good to be true then it isn't.
One other person wanted to pay up front and have his son pick it up at a later date. He was too busy to come himself. I suggested that he send the money to his son whom I would meet at the local police station to make the exchange. He suddenly disappeared. Perhaps he found a better deal.
Not sure how these work but they sure smell bad to me.

Pixel peeping has its uses, however, if you can't tell if it is a good image without pixel peeping it is not a good image.

I really like both but #2, to me, is emotional. The scars & the almost sad expression speaks of battles won & lost.
