You tried everything. You didn’t say if you tried another PK cartridge. They have electrical contacts so you may have a bad one.

Nothing special, just a snapshot of something I've only seen once in many, many years...Amish family at the beach.

My wife and I were waiting for a seat at a Texas Roadhouse in the Minneapolis area. In front of us was a group of Amish…maybe 12-14 of them. There was one guy who appeared to be a part of the group, but who wasn’t Amish so I struck up a conversation with him. He turned out to be the Van driver for the group. I don’t know if he was a Sole Proprietorship or a driver for a company who owned the vehicles. The Amish will take a break from work and enjoy a vacation. When they do they hire a van and driver, pay for the gas and his meals and lodging. His job is to drive them to wherever they want to go and back. He told me it’s an easy job and he gets to see the country, although most of his trips, especially if kids are involved, are down the East Coast to Orlando.

I appreciate most of the cars you photograph but I enjoy all of your photographs of them. To say that there is disposable income in the TC area is a gross understatement. Keep posting!

I’m a Mac user but had similar issues recently. Could it be your computer RAM getting full and the OS is trying to give you the information you want but doesn’t have the capacity so it is displaying Thumbnails instead of larger photos?

I tried cropping out the foreground before settling on the final version. My crop reminds me of the smallness of the area that contained so many ducks. It felt better. Strictly subjective. Thanks for your comment.

Couldn’t do that without chasing the birds away

I had a different Section selected on my first attempt to post this, but I messed up in attaching the photos and had to start over. I forgot to change the Section on the 2nd attempt. Although this photo contained birds, to me it really wasn’t about the birds- it was more to do with the overall scene and with the editing. It probably could go into a few categories and I suspect someone will move it where it fits best.

On a walk along the Elm Creek this week a came upon a group of Mallards enjoying the open water on a rather nice afternoon. I took a few photographs and continued on my way.

The first photo was right out of the camera and showed promise. The second photo was the result of spending a little time in Affinity Photo making a few changes: removing some trash and playing with the lighting.

Thanks for the comments. What attracted me to #1 was the contrast of the black branches against an almost white sky and lake pointing towards someone’s footprints. The scene was vaster than what I was able to captured. It I’d definitely more abstract than #2.

Thanks for the comments. I’ll play with this a little more and see what I can bring out. I’ve a lot to learn about processing B&W.

Thank you! It was a foggy, misty dreary day.

It finally warmed up enough to take my camera out to play. This was a walk along Elm Creek and around Rice Lake. I included the color version because I like it both ways. Feel free to comment.
