Man, this guy is good, extremely creative, and the shear amount of his work out there is amazing in it's own right. My wife and I were amazed by his exhibit in the Indianapolis Children's Muesum and I've been kind of following him ever since seeing it. Amazing quality, color and creativity, and as already mentioned he is very productive. I don't guess this guy even takes time to sleep and is always blowing glass. Anyway, impressive to say the very least. I simply love his stuff and it's very photogenic as well. Thanks for sharing!

I didn't really mean to start an argument about what is and what isn't a watermark! What I really want is to sign my prints for sale in a very unobtrusive way. The watermarks that I have seen are generally translucent and can almost be overlooked and that's how I want to sign the prints, so that's why I called it a watermark. As for my still running my photo editing on a Windows 7 based computer, I do indeed know that Microsoft no longer supports it. However, my current setup does everything I need it to do and upgrades cost money that I really no longer have to spend on my hobby since I was forced into retirement due to my partial disabilities. Windows 7 not being supported any longer is a primary reason this computer has been taken off the internet for quite some time now. I also had many problems with upgrades and virus infections with all the versions of Windows that I have used. I now do all my internet work on a Chromebook, which is basically Android and I have had virtually no such problems. Anyway, I really don't need the latest and greatest to be effective as the recent sales of my prints have proved to me. I get lots of compliments on my work, but there is no greater compliment than someone plunking down cash money to take one of my prints home! Geese, if I can do that shooting with an obsolete Pentax K3 and editing with free software on a Window 7 based computer, then I'm a happy camper. Good luck and good shooting to all.

Do you use Lightroom Classic? It does watermarks in any color and it has a slider for transparency. You can also chose font, size and position.
#1 opacity 100%
#2 opacity 25%

I use mostly GIMP and darktable. I never liked the way Lightroom wants to organize your files for you. I guess I have my own way of doing things and I'm not about to change now. At 70 and partially disabled, I'm not going to last in this hobby a whole lot longer anyway.

He's selling prints. I'd like to see you remove a watermark from a print with PS.

Very true! I am primarily wanting to sign my prints without it being obtrusive. I don't post any full resolution photo files on line that I consider more than family snapshots, etc. and I keep nothing on the cloud for just the reasons you brought up. If I post a photo here it's because I'm willing to share it and even then it probably wouldn't be full resolution and a watermark would require a bit more effort if someone did want to use it for profit, etc.

Thanks, it looks like this may be a decent option!

I kind of doubt that anyone sends programs on disks any more. It's SO MUCH cheaper to download them on the internet.

You make a good point about getting software on a disk, probably not going to happen. However, I have many times now downloaded an installation file on my chromebook, then virus checked, etc, and then moved it to my offline photo editing computer via thumbdrive. Hopefully, I can again download the installation file for whatever software I choose to download. If it's only a direct install, I guess I'm out of luck.

My wife has been doing craft shows for a couple seasons now and dragging me along mainly as a pack mule. Anyway, I recently started taking some of my framed photographic prints at 8X12 and 12x18 to sell as well. I've actually done pretty well and have decided that maybe I should start watermarking some of my more popular images. I want something mostly translucent and very unobtrusive, and although I can add text to my photos in several of the editing packages that I regularly use, none of them seem to have a transparent color selection or watermark menu. I have found a goodly number of mainly Android apps that do watermarks and could use them on my Chromebook, but most of them seem to want me to send the photos to their website or store them on the cloud, which I do not want to do. My Windows 7 based, photo editing computer has been off the internet for years now and I have no intention of putting it back on, but would like to find software to do watermarks that would still run on this machine and without needing access to the internet. Does anyone know of a stand alone watermarking program that will still run on Windows 7? I would greatly appreciate your input on this if you know of any options!

It does seem like they are increasing the number of commercial minutes per hour. There needs to be a law or FTC rule.

I was a TV broadcast engineer for nearly 20 years back in the late 70's and 80's. Back then a long break was 2 minutes and they generally came as a lead in, a mid break, and then and final break. Anyway, total time was generally 6 minutes per half hour. Now a single break can and often does last that long! It now takes 3 hours to watch a 2 hour movie with commercials and it just keeps getting worse with no end in sight. While we too try to record programs and then fast forward through the ads, one can wear out their button pusher doing so!

Yeah, I've never understood why they need to advertise drugs to the general public like they do, especially when they can't be obtained without a doctor's script. Seems like they could save a lot of money and possibly make these new drugs more affordable without all the ads. As an example, they put me on Farxiga last year and my co-pay was $300.00, but to make it even worse, they charged my insurance something like $2500.00 for each refill and that put my into the gap coverage level in just a few months and I had to pay more for every script after that, most of which I was getting with no co-pay whatsoever. Man, what a racket!

We utilize the DVR whenever possible too, but still watch live TV from time to time. However, this does nothing to reduce the number of email ads I get from them and that's close to 3 a day at this point!

Man, these folks are spending a huge amount of money on ads! You can hardly watch TV without one of their ads coming up in just about every break and I get at least 20 to 30 e-mail ads a week as well. Now they have even re-branded the product to pull in male customers by calling it "Mando." Personally, I would rather stink than buy this product due to all the annoying ads! Just wondering if anyone else here is sick of hearing about it as well and needed to vent a bit. Good luck and good photography to all.

Kind of like complaining about the complainers 😎😎😎

I have to say that I got a chuckle out of that one!

Actually, a lot more response on this than I expected. Anyway, I seldom use the individual sections and prefer to just look over the mixed listing that comes up if you don't change it. Kind of like an expanded version of the "What's New List" that used to come up with the old format.

Why do folks complain about posting a photo in the wrong section, when the new primary listing comes up with the sections mixed in the first place? Sure one can filter down to a specific section if they want to, but why criticize someone for posting in the wrong section when the start page is mixed up anyway? I guess some folks just aren't happy unless they have something to complain about!
