Agree with Sony rx100 vi 28-200 lens raw, jpeg or raw plus jpeg. mpb has them well under $1,000. 6 months warranty

I’ve heard complaints about Sony’s instruction manual. One of the photojournalists I work with switched to Panasonic and has stayed with the line for several years, happily.

The herringbones look like they are missing part of the spectrum as well. Good luck hunting down the culprit, either the cloth dye or the scanner, or both

I believe you can set card 1 to do raw & jpeg and use slot 2 for overflow.

I recently purchased an HP Z27. I did considerable research and decided on it. I've been very satisfied and it didn't break the bank. I would suggest just add it to the ones you check out.

I'll check it out, as well as the BenQ, thanks!

Mucho thanks everyone! I really appreciate all the input, and bought a 16" Macbook Pro, 2.6Ghz, i7 core, 16 gig Ram, 512 GB SSD with an external dongle with an 8 in 1 hub. The dealer Demo-ed the LG 27" 4k screen for me. I like the ability to work in landscape and/or portrait mode. That or one of the other screens are on the radar...

There’s a BenQ 24” at B&H that is quite decent. It sells for about $400.

Thanks, yea, I saw that on AppleInsider's list l and it seems aimed at photographers. I'm browsing MacWorld as I watch the post-debate analysis now.
Some of the decisions depend on the price to clean up the problems on the old desktop unit and transfer to a new or Apple refurbished macbook pro.

You need a photo editing monitor, not a TV. I’ve tried three new TVs... All were poor for photo editing, and only somewhat useful for video editing. Electrically, you just need a dongle adapter or a dock to convert Thunderbolt 3 to HDMI.

I have to research which monitors would be good choices other than the pricey Apples I saw on the B&H site. Appleinsider has a list and I'm open to other recommendations.

On a MAC can you add an external monitor? If so, Go with the largest, highest resolution you can afford. If it has HDMI you should be able to out put to a small HDTV as use as a monitor. I use a HP 27"

I like the idea of plugging in a 27 or 32 to the laptop, but will have to find out if a small HDTV would be Apple-compatible as a monitor. Wouldn't that make the issue of a 13" screen being too small for PP
moot?

For those who haven't tried color infrared photography, they look pretty bad SOOC. Processing included the red/blue channel swap, and tweaking saturation on each color channel. A lot of the fun is seeing what colors I can "pull" from the IR capture.

What a great idea!

I'm tired of sharing the family desktop, and I'm looking to get myself a MacBook Pro laptop for my photography and other business. Are the 13" screens too small for field shooting and using LR & Pshop?

Gosh darn it. You are cheating by bringing up something in the realm of common sense. Liberals can’t handle common sense.

While on the common sense question though, why didn’t Obama do something/anything about the Russians interfering? He knew about it.
