Nicely done. I have already posted an image on your site.

Great! Thanks for do so. Are you using the same username? I don't recall seeing a kpmac registered.

This Dark-eyed Junco looks great with the colorful berries behind it. I just posted this picture on my new website GreatBirdPics.com. I designed the website for bird photographers and those who enjoy beautiful pictures of birds. Check it out when you have a chance.

Thanks so much. I am proud of the site and happy my developer, Appnet, was able to make my vision a reality.

Indeed it was time-consuming but worthwhile when I see the final product. Thanks for checking it out.

It is with great pride (and a wee bit of irony) that as of this Thanksgiving Day https://www.greatbirdpics.com is up and running. As you may know, I have been working on this website for the past year. I have invested many hours designing the site, working with a developer to create it, and then uploading many pictures into it.

GreatBirdPics.com is about birds - but you don't have to be an expert birder to enjoy it. Try going to the Search menu and select Random - you'll see a continual flow of some beautiful bird pictures. Feeling adventurous? Try the Search All menu and select different traits - select United States/Illinois and see some pictures taken around here. Reset the Search and then select Age/Adult with Chicks to see some cute pics. Or select Artsy-Fartsy and see what comes up.

Please consider becoming a member to help the site get up and going. Upload some of your GreatBirdPics and share them with the world!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Have you looked at Photoshelter.com ? It is a site used by many professionals. Basically it is a storage site that you can market from and create your own website. It would be up to you to do the marketing It is a subscription service that would cost way ,way below hiring a web designer. I don't have any personal interest
in Photoshelter other than I make enough sales without doing any marketing to pay for several years of the basic service. This would be for an individual, not a group.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.

I for one find this to be a great idea, and would happily share my very best images there. With no experience in such things, I have no idea what a reasonable development cost would be.

Perhaps someone who knows more about the various ways to drive people to your site (and get it to rise in Google rank) can chime in here.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you would presumably permit photographers to retain the copyright to anything posted on your site.

Finally, your criterion of only the best shots would presumably have to be enforced somehow--are you willing to police your site yourself? If it becomes successful that could be a lot of work!

I don't know if you remember this exchange about an new Bird Photography website, but it is ready for testing. If are still serious about sharing some of your best images I'd be happy to have you as one of my initial testers. I'm obtaining the emails from my testers so if would provide me one here as a Private Message or send me an email at mwarner2543@gmail.com I will send you detailed information on how to get started.

Saw this Field Sparrow in front of some fall leaves at Montrose Beach (Chicago) yesterday. I'm also going to be loading it on my new Bird Photography website, which will be going live very soon. Using that website's Filter function to find the pic you would enter Field Sparrow and select Illinois. All will be welcome to join (for free).

I went over to Montrose Beach, which is in the shadow of the Chicago skyline, this afternoon. We saw 48 Avocets (280 were there yesterday) and I got some pics of them flying.

My new Bird Photography website is about ready and I'll be loading all the Avocet pics on it - to find them on the website you use the filter and indicate Avocet/Bird in Flight/In or by Water/Illinois. I'll let you know when it is ready. If you would be interested in helping beta test the site by loading some of your pictures on it please message me.

Caught these Goldfinch at daybreak right before they migrated south. I'll also be posting these pictures on my new website (which is almost done). The website is just for bird photography and has a powerful search database so you can find images like Male, Bay-breasted Warbler, in Ohio. If you would be interested in helping me beta-test the site, please leave me a Private Message.
