-35°F at Bentley Creek, PA circa 1969. It was very still out. My dad had wrapped his car engine in an electric blanket and it was the only car in the neighborhood that would start that morning.
I quit using Microsoft Office when they started the subscription model. Libre Office meets all of my (office related) needs.
Affinity Photo will do all of what you want a much, much more for a one time charge of $42.
i use a Dell G7 with an Nvidia GPU, 16 GB RAM 1 TB SSD, Windows 11 Pro. It renders RAW photos in well under 5 seconds. I don't concern myself too much with color accuracy; I'm a rank amateur and I can almost always get something I like in PP.
I have a 3' x 5' embroidered stars & stripes flag made of nylon flown well off the ground by itself in front of my house. It comes indoors only during high winds and severe weather conditions. It is well lit at night. Of the many flags on my in-town street, it's the only one lit at night. I retire my worn flags to the local girl scouts who take care of their disposal properly. I hope I am doing right by it, I have made more than a half-hearted attempt to do it right. Like others here, I am saddened and disturbed by the lack of flag etiquette I see all around me.
We hand out toys for this very reason. LOL
I very much enjoyed the way you overlaid your story with your photos. A most thoughtful and evocative presentation.
Thank you for the photo and the narrative.
My best buddy is a combat veteran with PTSD. He is as brave as anyone I have ever known. He hates guns. He hates war. I honor him and all of the fallen and stricken soldiers everyday.
Very cool eye candy. Nice job.
Big Nate is my favorite comic strip. This arc with Daphne has been going on for several weeks, longer than most others. Peirce is tugging on heart strings young and old.
