I went out the mailbox just before 11:00 and saw the Fedex truck coming up Kansa Ln. I saved the driver the walk up to my door and got my package from KEH.
Once I had all the bubble wrap off I turned the lens over in my hands. I found one small scratch on the focal length barrel and just a bit of missing ink on the VR insignia. Both I really had to look hard to find. I'm grateful for them, frankly. Those marks got the lens busted down to BGN grade and saved me over 30 bucks. Otherwise it looks and works like new.
The strap was grade LN. I didn't even bother to look it over much, I just started putting it on the camera.
It took me awhile to find out how to get the camera out of Manual mode and into Program mode.
I took a couple of shots of the TV to see if the lens indeed worked in AF. Perfect.
So here's more praise for KEH. They are just a pleasure to deal with.
Out to take a few pictures to attach to this message.

Hi Rick,
Based on your examples, I am surprised that you can say the lens is good.. It made half of the dog black....

Nice pics...

Having done that itinerary back in the film days, let me offer the following VERY IMPORTANT advice.
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, REMOVE OR CHANGE A LENS while out in the field. 100% of everyone with interchangeable lens cameras managed to get dust and dirt on the innards I carried two Nikon F bodies, one with a 600mm mirror lens and the other with a 28=200mm. Worked fine.

Enjoy the safari.

Anyone have any suggestions for a pocket sized camera that also takes RAW?? Looking for something small that I can carry in a pocket.
Thanks

I recently migrated to Photoshop CC from Elements 14. So far ok, but I can't find one of my favorite features from Elements. In Elements, I could put the marker on an area that is supposed to be white and the program would adjust the colors accordingly. I can't seem to locate this 'one step' color balance item.
Thanks

I am trying to place a desktop pic on my Windows 10 laptop. Since the computer was born with Windows 10, Windows Photo Viewer doesn't exist.
My issue is that the picture that I selected for the desktop image is extremely blown up and only showing about 1/3 of the whole pic.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Linda,
The choices that I have on the dropdown do not include PS Editor 14. The only Photoshop mention is the program. Also.. I have tried using PSE as my default jpg. viewer. Too cumbersome..

I am using Elements 14 and have encountered a minor question with Elements.
If I view a pic on my Windows 10 computer and wish to work on it in Elements, I select he 'Open with' and select Elements. The Elements program launches, but I have to again locate the image and open it in Elements. Is there a way to just select 'Open with' in Windows and have the image automatically open in Elements?

I have the Mk2 and have been very happy with it. I have included a pic taken handheld at 1/8 sec at f 1.8 (iso 320) with a 45mm Olympus f1.8 lens.
Hope this helps to answer your question...

To be fair, I didn't chat with the photogs about this particular feature, but a previous conversation with them indicted a lack photo knowledge..i.e. selling a monopod in their store...When asked if a tilt head was available with it, I was told that it wasn't needed.. Asked the guy exactly how I would take a vertical? He just scratched his head and commented that he never thought of that... And, yes. he was one of the ship photogs.

Just recently returned from a cruise where the staff photogs were busy taking pictures of everyone (as is their job). They had mounted on their camera what appeared to be a cell phone which was attached to the camera and they would enter info (such as cabin number) into it which probably was entered as metadata. It would also display the taken photo on the cell phone screen. I was intrigued by this and wondered if anyone knows what the software is?
