You seem to be at a crossroads with your comments, two in particular hit me hard, this one, "I have been booking more weddings" and this one, "And yes the price of 70-200 mm 2.8 is why I'm looking for alternative".
If your booking more weddings and you can't afford a 70-200, either your not charging enough, or, your underselling yourself. Look, I was a wedding photographer for over 40 years, I only had a 28mm and 105mm for the first 5 years I shot. Then I booked more weddings and upped my game, I suggest it is time for you to up your game and charge more so you can get the equipment that will help you up your game.

Yeah. What he said!

It’s all too common that we undercharge for our work. I see the same thing in venues like Etsy or Art.com: mounted 11x14s for $25.00 to $30.00 (shipping included) for example.
With digital, weddings are sooooo much easier than they used to be, but you should really consider upping your prices with the very least goal of expanding your kit (with something like the 80-200 you desire) after just a couple of gigs.

Good luck!

It’s when you’re a passenger in the back of the bus, you look out the window on final approach, and you see the whole length of the runway that you wonder if you’ve got clean underwear in your luggage!

It’s a little less scary when you’re the driver. But not much!

Manipulation is a skill and is necessary as you grow and gain knowledge.

Example, this was taken in a parking lot and would have never worked to elevate the story line on this exclusive Ford GT.

All photos should be posted in the gallery, end of story... but if you fail yourself or lack the skills needed, don't give up and try to be considerate of those who put forth an effort to express their vision of he world.

I like your example.

This, also in a parking lot, of a *real* radiator cap on a really nice automobile that was perhaps 50 years old.

"Abstract" is whatever we want it to be. For some, a photo that has been highly manipulated in post. For others, a little detail overlooked by others.

Batteries+ recently replaced a new lost fob for me for about $125.00, including programming. It was for a run-of-the-mill Chevy Traverse, not an expensive import, so that may make a difference in $.

I don't think "abstract" appropriately describes the kinds of images you seem to be speaking of. Photographs can be "abstract" without any kind of manipulation. If you are speaking of the many composites, heavily processed, and AI-assist images we see on UHH, remember that there are already specialty sections like "Digital Artistry" and "AI Artistry and Creation". I personally think there are already way to many Sections in the UHH Forum.

Very good response.
“Abstract” to you may mean something completely at odds with what it means to me - a heavily processed and manipulated image vs. one that focuses on some little detail of a commonly seen subject that is often overlooked.

Think Dali vs. Weston. Both are considered ‘abstract’, and yet both are very different from the other.

My Pro-100 has been working well since 2013. There is a procedure where you can remove the print head and soak the nozzles to clean them. I think the solution was denatured alcohol, but don't trust my memory. It might have been water. I can't remember if the procedure was a YouTube or text somewhere on the internet.

And, probably unplugged, which in itself causes inks to dry and clog up the nozzles.

There are only a few 3d party inks (I.e. Precision Color) that are any good - but you have to load the cart yourself. AND leave the unit plugged in.The others, where you buy filled and cheap are just that - cheap and crappy!

The Canon Pro-100 was probably one of the finest advanced amateur printers ever made, and notoriously reliable!

All those pretty much apply to me, except that bottle deposit was 2 cents, not five - and all three channels in my metro area signed off at 9:00PM Monday through Thursday and a little later on the weekend.

I hadn't been to mcdonald's in about three years. Went yesterday: filet of fish, medium shake, fries. $17.00

I can go to my local, order a small pizza and a beer, and pay about the same price.

I probably won't see Mickey for another three years - or longer!

do you? Check out these prices. My,my, how times have changed. This is about when I recall the McDonald's in my home town opening. Yeah, with the '55 Chrysler and the '55 Chevy, it's right around '55 or '56.

And being from Cheshire, you may remember seeing the line of cars on the Berlin Turnpike when McDs first showed up there. You may also remember the 79cents per dozen at Dunkin’s …
Aw, the times they are changin’!.

Firstly, you said “sell” - and the U.N. splash banner says “free photos”, so I don’t think it’s what you want!

Here in New Hampshire, out turkey population was about zero forty years ago. After a few importations (from New Jersey and, I think, Tennessee) we have close to 45-50,000, and an annual “harvest” of about 6,000 by hunters.

Those birds are prolific - and smart. I understand why Benjamin Franklin wanted to make them the National Bird!
