Matt, this is a very pleasing composition rich in texture! Very appealing.

Thanks Carol. Comments have been very helpful; I will crop and play with texture and brightness Matt

I feel your pain.
This is exactly what i had in mind. The person and boat are not just a dot on the shot. The horizon now has some "value added " to the picture. For me it is a 100% better.

Thanks. I wanted to enhance the low clouds at the horizon but don't know how. I fiddled with the brush but made a mess, just like I did in kindergarten. Matt

Thanks Frank. I will try that. At the moment I am trying to install a new router and am having "issues " so I need to call Comcast. Wish me luck. Matt

Great depth, with beautiful reduction in scale...pulls the viewer in!

Thanks Dave. I always learn from your comments; "reduction in scale..." a new concept for me. I see what it does. I will be more aware of this now. Thanks. Matt

I like this photo a lot. It's a pleasing b&w scenic by itself, but the addition of the people make it so much more. The stories one could write from this photo abound. There's also a nice movement of layers in the photo, from the heavy boulders in the foreground to the sandy beach with vegetation to the calm waters.

Thank you. Would a sailboat in the distance have added or subtracted,do you think? There were none in the neighborhood. Just wondering. I think enough is enough. Thanks for the thoughtful and instructive comment . Yes, there are many stories here. Matt

I stopped by the harbor on the way home from shopping and was struck by these parallel worlds on the beach. The pail made the scene for me; a bit incongruous since there were no little children around playing in the sand. Matt

There's nothing like an unusual event to get us seeing differently. And there's nothing like an eclipse to get a photographer's antennae twitching .

And my shutter clicking. Thank you RG. Matt
