This is my field macro set-up. Canon 6D with Sigma 105mm macro lens on a CB Folding-S flash bracket (when folded it fits in my camera bag real easy), Canon 430 EX II speedlight with FotoDiox 6x8-inch diffuser, Joby ballhead, Neewer E-TTL off-camera flash cord.
Thank you Gym. When I capture macro images like stationary subjects I use manual focus and AI-Servo (this is a Canon setting, I believe it is called AF-C for Nikon cameras) for moving subjects like bees or some butterflies.
