Inspired by my fellow Canadian from Alberta, I want to photograph the eclipse, but had absolutely no equipment. This is the result of the shoebox lid pinhole projected onto the trunk of my car. I will not attach the full size image; believe me, it won’t make any difference!

Jerry;

I’m not sure where you got the information, but some of the numbers are suspect. I drive a Tesla Model 3 which I can charge for about $15CDN. This gives me about 300 km of range. If I were to drive a gasoline powered vehicle, assuming a fuel economy rating of 9 L per hundred kilometers, it would cost me about $36 to drive that far using gasoline costing $1.35CDN per liter. This would be approximately $3.75US per gallon.

Boy, there is a lot of bad news online about EVs. Fires are a real problem because they can start spontaneously. One house was destroyed when a Mercedes burned. The car was a loaner from the dealer while her own Mercedes was being serviced. Another house was severely damaged when a Tesla burst into flames. Water is useless for putting out lithium fires. Fire departments use special blankets costing $3k - $5k to smother the fire. They then haul the car away in a procession with police and fire engines. They leave the blanket on for a day or more to keep oxygen from letting the fire restart.

Sales are tanking, with dealers having EVs sit on their lots. Charging away from home typically costs more than filling the tank with gas. When many cars are charging from the same station, the amount of charge going to each car is reduced proportionally. A reported rented an EV to do a story on it. During a long trip, she said she spent more time charging the car than sleeping. The car got more "recharging" than she did. Replacing the battery can cost more than the car - $60,000 for a $55,000 Hyundai. Car makers are starting to produce their own batteries so they won't be at the mercy of battery makers. Still, with a limited supply of lithium, prices will continue rise. Reliability is an issue because the car is basically running on software, and you know how reliable that can be. Repairs can be ridiculously expensive.

I never had any interest in buying an EV, but now I'm dead set against them. Give me gas any day. (Enter a humorous comment here.)

A friend had an EV, but he sold it and bought a pickup truck. He didn't go into details.

Remove vertical match from plus sign; place it diagonally on equal sign. Result: 1 - 2 ≠ 8

Quite interesting. Although, Ohio has Lake Erie. Do you suppose it qualifies as man-made?

I recently conducted an experiment on a trip to the Azores. I took nothing but an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a DJI OM3 gimbal. No DSLR, no mirrorless, no Nothing! I found I got some pretty good shots when I was forced to use that setup. What made it work so well was ensuring I learned everything I could about exactly how to use the equipment. The iPhone has a formidable camera, but it is really important to learn everything you can about how to use it.

Automatic car washes are not an issue for Teslas. All Teslas have a car wash mode which disables windshield wipers and folds in mirrors.

You obviously did not read the article. The average charge time per vehicle was just slightly over one hour. It did not take three hours. Diesel fuel usage was around 12 litres per hour, not 12 gallons per hour.

To be clear, Maxime Bernier is NOT a Canadian political leader. The party he founded ran candidates in 315 ridings, of Canada's total 338 ridings, in the 2019 federal election. However, no candidate was elected under its banner and Bernier lost his bid for personal re-election. The PPC holds no seats in The House of Commons, and has no influence whatsoever in Canadian politics.

TravelWP has, in the past, made the following predictions:

- [ ] Trump will win.

- [ ] Trump will be re-elected and the mental health facilities will be inundated by liberals.

- [ ] Yes, Trump will win in November.

- [ ] Trump 2020.
- [ ] Despite the polls showing that Hillary was a shoe-in, the Trump voters ignored the polls and went out to vote. There will be a repeat this November.

- [ ] The November response will support America as it did in 2016.

- [ ] You will need another visit to a quiet room when Trump gets re-elected.
- [ ] Biden will not be president.

- [ ] Trump will be re-elected.

- [ ] The left can't deal with facts. For them, it's going to be another 4 years in their quiet rooms.
- [ ] When Trump wins next month, STUPID will get much worse.

- [ ] I'll get satisfaction in November, with a big smile on my face.

So I just wanted to ask you: Are you still smiling?

Neither the local newspaper nor the Crown Attorney‘s office in that area have any record of such an event.
