Just noticed a very nice vintage Vivitar Series 1 lens for sale on eBay. 90mm f2.5 which has a reputation for very desirable bokeh in portraiture. The ad shows the mount marked P/K which I think indicates Pentax bayonet K mount. Present auction is at $115 plus $12 s/h and ending time as 6 PM ET. I don't have any need for it myself but some others here may be interested. Here's the URL

As I recall the exposure for the moon is just like that for a sunny beach. Am I wrong?

You might get something half the price of Canon's offerings with excellent German engineering and PDF manuals free on the web if you check out the Metz Mecablitz line of hot shoe mounted speed lights.

Suggest checking the Butkus orphaned camera manuals site @ <https://www.butkus.org/chinon/flashes_meters/promaster_flashes/promaster_flashes.htm>
The models you mentioned are there.

Hello All,
I picked up the above flash at a Thrift Shop and it appears to be a great flash. Nice rotational features, well built and strong flash. This flash can be fitted to an variety of camera bodies by changing out the shoe module. The previous owner was using this with A Minolta Maxxum 300si film camera employing the Minolta/Sony shoe. My Sony Alpha 350 has the same shoe but this is a digital camera. I shot a few images and get varying exposures with the same setting, same object, same distance, etc.

I cannot find much info on this flash, no manual. I do not know if this flash was originally designed for use on a film camera and not compatible with digital or ????? Yesterday, I read an article that non digital intended flashes do not use the pre-pulse associated with digital cameras and may not properly synch. I have no idea if this is an obstacle.

I would like to use this flash off-camera as a side light for portraiture and trigger it by another flash.

If anyone knows this product, has comments, or manual, help, I would be most appreciative hearing from you. I think this flash is about a 2000 vintage.

Thx,
Larry

Be sure to add the Nikkor F to Nikkor Z lens adapter (Model FTZ ?) in the same order. Nikon currently knocks $100 USD off the $249 price when bought together with the body. You are quite likely to want to add one or two lightly used Nikkor F lenses before Nikon fills out the Nikkor Z lens selection.

It appears that journalism has mostly degenerated into a mental disorder falsely named "Progressive". I call them "chuckleheads". Good for a quick chuckle but a waste of time.

Ink jet printer ink is frequently falsely claimed to be the most overpriced fluid in common use. However, it's far from true since the markup averages 300% while coffee in convenience stores and coffee shops average markup is 2.900% of cost and a glass of soda pop in a restaurant average markup is 1,900%

The last time I bought a complete set of Epson ink cartridges for my Epson XP-830 printer it set me back $100. $100!!! Comparateandsave.com offers compatible ink cartridges for this printer for only a little more than half that price. Has anyone had experience buying ink jets from this business and, if so, how do they work? Does anyone have a suggestion on another place to buy ink jets?

Funny. I just came here to let folks know too. Just finished ordering mine in green for the same reason you picked red.

Quite a bargain IMO. Just the thing for my LUMIX LX 100 (fixed zoom lens and less than one pound).

"Travel tripods" are certainly a collection of compromises.

My morning email offered the (normally $120) MeFoto RoadTrip Air Travel Tripod for $40. One day only!

The color choices appear to be a fashion statement, but the price compelled me to buy a red one to keep in our RV for my small and lightweight "travel" cameras, including a "tough" Olympus TG-5. It is red too! Even if the tripod falls over, the camera might survive!

Red travel camera on a red tripod! Nobody will ever think I'm a photographer that knows anything.

I have a lot of luck avoiding confrontation by using the most innocent looking silvery, white or colored camera bodies. So avoid the "pro" look and the black body cameras. I try to look and act like an average joe just there for the event who happens to have his girl's pocketbook camera. Don't be a show off.

I am finding it much more difficult to take my Canon DSLR into many inside sporting events...now I am being told that if you do not have press credentials, no cameras with lenses over 3 inches will be allowed. I went to the college football NCAA press conference yesterday in Santa Clara California...they will only allow the public to take pictures with cell phones or short lens point and shoot cameras. no removable lenses. This past summer at the White House, only cell phone pictures are allowed.

Are other photographers finding the same frustration and restrictions taking pictures at concerts, sporting, and other public events with your better removable lens camera equipment?

Perhaps I need to find a way to get a photographer press credential so I am not so limited.

Any suggestions?
