Now you got me wondering whether "printer" means a device or a service provider. I had thought its the latter.

Until you mentioned it, I only meant "printer" as in "service provider", and not printer as in the physical machine you print on.

For clarification - I know of services that you send your images to and they print them in book form. That is what I am looking for - a print service that prints books, and that can do a Board Book style book that will stand up to the rougher handling of very young children.

I want to print a Board Book for my grandchildren (ages 1-3) of my images of birds, flowers, etc..., but all I can find are printers that do "regular" books on paper.

Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any printers that also do Board Books?

TIA

Gary

It may have been luck it flew in front of you but it was your skill that got the photos!

Thankfully I was set at high shutter speed/ISO to get BIF.

Was out by the lake the other day taking pictures of what looked interesting. Came upon an owl and a cardinal, and then sat down to get some images of a great blue heron that was flying by about forty yards away. Just about to get AF lock on it, and a dragonfly flew right into the middle of my view finder, and the AF got a lock on the dragonfly instead. I have tried to capture hundreds/thousands of pictures of dragonfly's in flight, but they all failed for one reason or another. This one was pure luck - so I will take it.

Olympus EM-1 Mk III with f4/300mm prime.

Enjoy!

Where I live in central Indiana there is a large lake with a marina. A good-sized gull population (150+) hangs out on the docks and near-dock waters where there are lots of good fishing opportunities. There are typically a few gulls that are about 100 or so yards from the main group, just circling around. There is also a bald eagle's nest about 300 yards from the main group of gulls. When the eagle takes flight the "scouts" give off a cry, and the other gulls immediately take flight like a bomb went off - they scatter in all directions at different altitudes. It took me a while to catch on to this behavior, but now when I see them take flight I immediately look up and can easily spot the eagle that has entered their space.

I have owned the 1 Mk II from January, 2018 onward, and have gotten some excellent images. I use it for BIF as well as stationary wildlife. I use a 40-150/f2.8 and add the 1.4 TC most of the time. This combo is pretty light, so I do not hesitate to grab it and take it with me wherever I go. Procapture feature is great! I use the electronic shutter (truly noiseless) almost all the time.

One feature I really like for BIF or other fast action work is the large buffer for the #1 SD card. Make sure you get the card that has the fastest R/W speed recommended in the instruction book. I am able to get upwards of 75 JPEG/RAW images per burst if I want to before the buffer fills up. If I shoot just JPEG I have never run out of buffer.

I concur with "John from gpwmi" above about low-light capability.

I would also give the 1 Mk III a good look. It has some additional features the 1 Mk II does not that may be desirable in your situation.

You can look at many images I have taken using the 1 Mk II here on this site. Start from January, 2018, onward.

In the marsh near local boat launching ramp. Pulled up and saw this Great Blue Heron in the "ready to strike" position. Positioned car, turned car off (vibration reduction), got camera out of bag, turned camera on, got lens cap off, zoomed, tried to get focus lock - all within about 5-6 seconds. Lucky I got a few shots in focus. Heron was about 50 yards away. Heavily cropped. In the last picture - head-on image - I think I was being told it did not appreciate having its picture taken. Thank you to all who responded with suggestions - they were GREATLY appreciated.

I worked through the list from mwsilvers and robertjerl. Seems like both the Superfetch and ACHI-MSI fix have worked the best. I will wait to see how it holds up over the next day or two.

If I need to I will venture into the BIOS as nadelewitz suggested, and other suggestions as well.

Again, many thanks.

Thanks mwsilvers. I took a quick look at the link you provided and the image of Task Manager, with the HD running at 100%, is exactly what my TM looks like.

I will check the troubleshooting list out after work today.

Thanks.

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction to resolve this issue. I am not sure if what I say below is related or are separate, unrelated, issues. I will state what I observed and what I have done to date. If anyone has any insight how to resolve this issue it would be greatly appreciated. I never had any problems prior to the June, 2019, that I discuss below.

Win 10 did an auto update in early June, 2019. shortly after that, sometimes (but not all the times), when I start my computer it is trying to boot from an online source. I hit "escape" and "enter", and it stops that process and switches to a boot from the computer itself. It only began doing this after the June update. in response to this I undid the June, 2019, update, and it seemed like it resolved the problem - until late in june. At that point the computer slowed down A LOT. When I look at the Task Manager the CPU and Memory usage are all normal. However, the HD usage will remain in the 100% range for long periods of time (10+ minutes). This affects all aspects of the computer and internet connectivity. Eventually, the computer freezes, and the only way out is to do a hard restart.

I tried defrag, troubleshooting, check disk/scan disk, and whatever else I could find that are the first go-to fixes, but to no avail.

I tried a System Restore to prior to June, 2019, and got a message that the process could not extract a Google Chrome Temp file. I re-loaded Chrome, and it seems to be running marginally better, but the HD still runs excessively and the system is still not running right.

Any thoughts or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Gary
