My start was in the back streets of Liverpool with a Voightlander Superb finding the kids running up to me demanding "take me photo mister" . I was 18 and the year was 1958.

Malta is really worth visiting…a most interesting island. Do not miss the Hypogeum (spelling?) suggest you look it up on Google and BOOK your visit before going ….limited numbers allowed . An underground temple older than Stonehenge….

Had both of mine done with a gap of about three months. The lenses were for long sight …before I was short sighted and had to wear glasses all the time…now only for reading and camera adjustments. What was significant was the brightness ..at least 3 stops if not more. As to the colour temperature I could not see any difference.
Great improvement and recommended for anyone who is doubtful.

For what it is worth I sold up all my Canon equipment and went to Olympus. It was mostly the weight ...I had the 6D and really only miss the GPS facility, also had the 650D and a bunch of L lenses ..it was the 100-400 mm giant that did it - fantastic lens but so heavy.

Now have OMD eM1 mk3. plus an old OMDe M5 and PEN with 12-40, 40-150 Pros + 60mm macro and a 1.4 extender The 40-150 is stunningly good and with the 1.4 attached reaches out to more than 400 mm 35mm equivalent... about 30% of the weight of that 100-400.

You pays your money and takes your pick.. I'm glad I made the change

Hi, I used to have a Canon 6D which had this facility via Lightroom . Now changed totally over to Olympus and my only regret is the lack of this function. Debating about getting another 6D as back up just for the GPS.

Mine just fell out. No damage. Looked at YouTube repair, but thought I would check with everyone here before attempting it myself.

Just 4 spots of superglue on the dark areas to reattach the mirror, right?

Hi, Mirror falling out of the original 5D was a known fault and happened to me. Canon repaired and made small modifications to beef up and returned camera to me all for free. Suggest you contact them as my experience was about 4 years ago.
Cheers and good luck

Hi

I had the 70-200mm f4 lens for a long time and it was easily my best lens as a walkabout. Light and very fast focusing. Then bought a 100-400 mm also a super lens but so heavy.

After two months I sold the lot and changed to Olympus... a good move. My 40-150mm f2.8 Pro lens with a 1.4 teleconverter gives me the max equivalent of 420 mm at f4 ...and also tack sharp

Suggest you visit the Opera House and walk up it early in the morning if the sun is shining. Stunning... Also visit the museum where Kon Tiki is held and the Viking long boats -Oseberg and Gokstad ships - and finally the Vigeland Sculpture park. I wanted to see the Edvard Munch art gallery but unfortunately it was closed when I was there.. underground / tube system good in Oslo. Enjoy.

Whilst not exactly "Custom built " the Olympus OM D E M1 and others are highly customisable.

Had the same problem with weight- especially the 100-400 on a 6D. Took the plunge and changed over to Olympus OM D eM1 (very tedious menu but slowly getting to grips) plus a few lenses including the 40-150 pro and 1.4 extender giving the equivalent of max 420 mm on a FF. Will save up for the 300mm pro which works with the 1.4 extender too and would give the equivalent of 840mm on FF. OK I know these lenses are the heaviest on MFT but still a lot lighter then Canon equivalents.

Hi, Thanks for your comments. I've been watching (Lurking?) Ugly Hedghogs for some years. Haven't posted photos - I put quite a lot on images Facebook.
Do not know rules for Hogs and direct contact ?
Would like to sell and be paid before Christmas.
Could use PayPal for protection?

Cheers

Took it on holiday with my new Olympus just to cover the wide angle...a real 17mm on my full frame 6D versus 24 mm equivalent of my new 12-40 pro ( 2 x crop) - did a stunning job. Just bought a fisheye until I can afford another pro lens. As I get older have to reduce the weight I carry.
Cheers
Mike
