I am not sure what I am doing wrong - I am trying to load settings that Ken Rockwell has made (NCSETUP.BIN). I have a formatted card and the file is in the root directory and yet when I try to load the settings through the camera menu - almost nothing happens. The same is true when I try to save the settings either - it should ask me whether I want to overwrite etc....nothing. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Did anyone have such experiences?

Believe me - this happened me last month. I was at the Louvre (Paris) and after being in line for about 3 hours - I finally got into the room where the famous MonaLisa painting is - I had a Nikon SLR - but everyone else had either SLR or Phone camera - I got nowhere near taking a good shot.

Hello

Does anyone know of any restrictions in taking DSLR or lenses inside Taj Mahal. I have heard that they do not allow video camaras. In a way DSLR is also a video camera. Any advice ?

Does anyone have an idea when the D750 will go on sale again. i have periodically seen it for $2000 with the 18-120 lens. It is back to regular price of $2300. I d not need it that bad and can wait until it goes back on sale.

I used to own a 18-200 and I sold it as I always felt that the weight balance was best optimized until 18-140mm. After that the lens far outweighed the camera and it became an issue to keep the camera positioning correct while travelling. This is just my opinion. 18-140 is optically exactly the same as compared to 18-200 or 300mm upto the 140mm mark - but the stability is far better with 18-140mm and I believe most useful in 99% of pictures I take. It is very rare when I take that lens off my d7100.

Hi there. Let us join hands in panhandling :-) I live in Tampa FL too and I understand that this is an expensive hobby. Frankly it was never cheap. I have been coveting Nikon F3, Mamiya, Pentax LX and always found them a little bit out of my reach and now - Nikon D810, 850 et al....it sure is expensive.

You have been very lucky. I hope you do not have to cut his/her lawn grass for the rest of your life to repay this favor :-)

btw - I would buy a 18-140 lens for about $200 and you should be all set. The longer focal lengths make the camera much heavier. 18-140 is the best balance.

I just recently purchased Nikon refurbished D3400 with 18-55 and 70-300 lenses for $399. I cannot see a better deal and a better camera to start him off with.

Folks - I am not a newbie but rarely find time to learn all the tricks and hence I am an auto-setting user on my Nikon D7100. I only have three lenses - 18-55, 35mm/1.8 and 50mm/1.8.

I want to know how to take a picture of a person who is running but is fully in focus, however everything around him/her is blurred. I have seen pictures of famous athletes like this. I was just curious. Any and all help is appreciated.

Folks - thanks a million for your viewpoints. My D7100 has about 1000 shutter clicks and hence very close to new. I checked on ebay - they generally go for around $500. After paypal and ebay steal from me - I may get around $440. I am not a pro photographer. Barely a photographer. It is tough enough to carry one dslr with its accessories and two is impossible. I know D7100 is a fantastic camera but I need to look at the practicality of every having the need to use both. I will put the D7100 on ebay.

Folks. I am in the process of selling all my photo gear and will end up keeping only the D7100 with a 50mm prime lens. I am doing all this to defray the cost of of D750 which I have convinced myself that I must have. I had not realized the value of the gear I am selling and I believe the money recouped from all the equipment I am selling on ebay will be almost enough to buy the D750 with 24-120 kit. I was going to put the D7100 body on ebay but now I feel I do not truly need to sell the D7100. The key question is - whether there is any use of a second camera which is a DX ?

I am in US. The 35mm lens is a DX else I would have kept it, although it is a fantastic lens.

Folks this is nothing more than a desire to buy the d750 kit. Do I need it - absolutely not!. But I had too much camera equipment that were not being used. So I decided to downsize (storage needs) :-)

I have put on ebay the following (I will end up keeping only the d7100 and the 50mm prime which is also a fx lens). The d7100 will also be on ebay in a couple of weeks after I get my d750. So in a couple of weeks I will end up only with the d750 with 24-120 lens and the 50mm/1.8 prime. I also have SB600 flash which I will keep.

Following are all going to sell on ebay. It is amazing - I have bids in a matter of minutes after they were listed. All of these are practically new. Some have never been used.

Nikon p900
Sony A6000 + 18-55 lens
Sony E-mount 55-210 lens
Nikon 18-200 vrii lens
Nikon 35mm/1.8 g lens
Nikon 18-55mm vrii lens
Nikon wu1-a wireless adapter
Panasonic Lumix ZS20

I finally fixed it. I wil not take credit for it though as it purely fluke. I pressed the qual button a few times and it somehow rotated through some really tiny picture settings and finally the full image started showing up in full screen. So no new camera for now :-( I ave been eyeing the d750 - my only issue is that the so called deal is always with a lens I do not want (24-120). I want the 28-300 which is actually cheaper as compared to 24-120 but still Nikon does not package that as a deal with the camera.

I did find that there is a newer firmware (1.03) as compared to mine - 1.02. I am trying that now.
