actually, I have been taking pics for years; someone on UHH said, a while back, to see some of the pics from the trips I keep asking about; I'm lazy, but I'm ge tting around to it. Thanks, to the man who always posts great pics ! ( you and I have communicated before )

I was at Pismo Beach a couple of years ago, checking out the Monarch Butterflies; they supposed actually count them ( 250,000 ); the guide explained how they did it - seemed convoluted, and I lost interest halfway through
her explanation ( about as honest answer as you will receive from anyone, on any subject ! )

Sorry; pushed the Send button accidentally in previous post; should have been in this sub-folder, anyway

These birds were reliable; showed up at the reservoir around 9, re-appeared around 4, just like the internet said
they would ! Top 2 photos are am pics; 3rd pic shows birds arriving back late in the day to roost for the night

Headed to Anza Borrego tomorrow, then off to Santee Lakes ( for ducks, etc); then Diamond Valley Lake, Chino Hills SP, Escondido Falls, Figueroa Mountain, and Antelope Canyon

Does anyone have any current updates?

Near Kamas Utah...a favorite local destination! This family graciously let me photo their delicious fried chicken dinner![/quote]

when were these pics taken?

to quote the internet: The diner opened in its present location in 2008 after it was refurbished for the better part of a year while it sat near Oakley City Hall. It's ... s.

It apparently was moved from Rhode island on a truck; interesting story and history

Yes, control it manually with an app such as Camera +.

For concerts, manual control overrides the stupid automatic exposure control (which reads predominantly dark areas and tries to brighten them).

You have to set the exposure manually for performer skin tones. It helps to set the white balance manually, too, so colored lights don't keep shifting the white balance all over. 4800K is about right to start... Many of the LED stage lights are around that white point.

thanks

My iPhone 13 Pro Max has various settings that you can change. For example in portrait, you can set the f-Stop. There is an exposure compensation setting and other things that might help. I would suggest you Google your iPhone to see what you have available.

thanks
