I like the RICHO GRiii.
I actually kind of liked it too... but I only rented it for one weekend and was not able to master all of its tricks. My photos were not great- But that was on me. I can totally see the appeal.
That being said... How sad for us camera lovers that we are still talking about cameras that came out in 2019 !! I HATE using my phone for photography, and I know the companies can't make money on point and shoot/pocket cams anymore.... But I really miss them. We need to somehow make cameras cool again.
Interesting that all the websites say the Ricoh GR iii X is the best pocket camera ever, yet no one has one. I rented one for a trip, and it was not love at first click.... Personally, I will always be a Sony RX100 gal. The sony RX100 series (I have a couple) - will still get you great photos even after a couple drinks!!! But I have never tried a Canon G7x - maybe I will rent one and check it out.
I always travel with an Olympus TG5, (for water parks, snorkeling, beach, snow, etc..) AND my RX100 vii for everything else. I call them my "dream team" for travel. They are both VERY expensive...... BUT I have never regretted it.

Thanks Jules, appreciate your praise. This was my first attempt shooting an event like this. Did not know really what to expect. You could get very close to the action. Brought my 70-300mm lens but did not use it. Shot all with my 18-200mm lens.

If I may give some tips ... I shoot horse shows for a living. I like to put but my Auto Focus mode in One Shot (canon words sorry). Then half press on the top poll, getting focus for that area. Then recompose up to where the horse and rider will be, when the horses' knees are at their highest is when you press all the way.
I find if I use Servo (or multi shot) the camera may lose focus of the horse.
That is just my way... one thing I have learned from many horse show photographers is that we all do it differently.
Your photos are really pretty - (only giving tips because I was desperate for tips when I started.)

I have the GRiii but not the x. I think either RICOH GRiii would be great.
Thanks - it is a big price difference

I have both the iii and the iiix / absolutely love both of them!
Thanks - I have never had a fixed lens camera before. So I think I might rent it first.
I had the FZ 200, and did not care for it. The picture quality on mine was straight up terrible. My favorite inexpensive, long range, easy camera is the Sony HX 80. 30x zoom. I bought an ugly used one on Ebay for 99 dollars! And the photo quality is amazing for a 1/2.3 sensor camera.
I have been looking for a new fun street/ party camera. I have seen all the good reviews for the Ricoh GRIIx and it is within my budget. I would love to hear from anyone that has one.... do you love it? - Also if anyone has any recommendations for a FUN street/party camera please let me know. THANKS for your time

You might consider buying an Olympus tough TG 6. I accidentally flung it 20 feet and nothing happened to it, not even a scratch. And that’s not the first time it got dropped. It’s also good to 50 feet under the water. I think you need it
I actually have a TG5 - I use it for water parks etc.. But it would be perfect for my party nights!! Plus it's red so it will be easier to find. I don't know why I never considered it. Great tip, thanks

I’ve known about this small independant shop that repairs all bodies & lenses. UPI, API in South Florida utilize them. If you call & offer a description, you get a “ballpark” cost. Once they get it & tear it down, they call with more accurate price (includes shipping).

Over the years I’ve used them 3 times, returns are typically within a few weeks, but are dependent on parts that may need to be ordered.
