Very nice - did you use SmartPhotoEditor to pp it?
I used to take my f2.8 20-35; 35-70; and 80-200 with me on trips, but the weight in my camera bag used to crush my shoulders as I walked around. So I got a 28-300 and now only take that on trips - it's lightweight and sharp enough for travel pictures. Sometimes I also bring my 35-70 for indoor shots where flash isn't allowed. All told, I'm very happy with the simplicity of the 28-300 and really don't mind the slight loss of sharpness or the fast (but heavy) 2.8/80-200.
Loved it when I had a PC - but when I went to a Mac, I discovered it wasn't supported - really missed it until I found Portrait Pro, Pixelmator, and Smart Photo Editor, all of which give me the same post processing advantages I had with the one piece of software.
Smart Photo Editor - it's free and has a tutorial for blurring the background - plus many other easy to use features - I learned about it from another UHHer several years ago and haven't found anything I like better. Good luck.
I bought one used on Ebay several years ago. Except for the weight, I'd use it most of the time. I think it's an amazingly sharp lens. I've used it at 80mm for close up candid portraits of my grandchildren and they are super sharp.
We went on the cruise to Budapest last year - one night they dock near the government buildings and they are all lit up - great photo opportunity.
I wait all year for the Fall posted pics - the colors are amazing and the compositions are remarkable. Thanks for posting.
I'm looking to have a couple of my photos printed poster size (29 x 52 or slightly larger). I saw the review done in 2012 and wondered if anyone had an updated list. I am not a professional - just want to display them at home. Any suggestions are welcome.
I have the TS9020 and am very satisfied. It only prints up to 8x10, but that's the size I hang in my home office anyway.
I'm not a big fan of birds in flight photos - but this one is outstanding - the color and contrast of sharp and blur are very eye catching.
I bought one several years ago on Ebay as well ( along with a 35-70 2.8 and a 20-35 2.8 ). I have never regretted any of them, but get the sharpest pics from my 80-200 2.8. I take a lot of candid "close up" portraits of family with it because I can stand back and catch their expressions without them being too aware. The only drawback is its weight - I'm 72 and after lugging it around on my D610 for an hour or so, it gets downright heavy. Otherwise, it's going to be in my bag until I stop taking pics.
I've sold both a camera and a lens without issue (and a golf club) - perhaps it's a location issue - my sales have been on Long Island and in NYC. Never purchased from the List - have purchased lenses from Ebay several times - all without incident.
I went from a D90 to a refurbished D610 and have never regretted it.
