Thanks for all the good suggestions, I will make use of something in there, I'm more of a 'mechanic', I built my machine, but took it down the street to a buddy who is a professional in the field, and builds/rebuilds units as a hobby and he installed the os. I dont have any valuable software and my data is mostly photos and a few videos. I recognize the wisdom of having everything backed up but have been too lazy and unconcerned about it because it doesnt have much value. I will probably start the practice (I do have a backup external hd... if I can find it) but I have some health issues including memory loss (the famous crs). I am going to get with my knowledgeable friend and ask him which of these options should work best and go with that. I bought a few 1t ssds, but none will fit my machine and I need to get one that will and clone this ssd to it, if I can do so seamlessly... yeah, right, lol Many thanks for your time and suggestions, somehow this will work out (maybe in spite of me).

me too, just started getting a warning to back up my 'hard disk' because ms has detected a problem... it doesn't say what the problem is, but I have an SSD, no hard disk and I wonder why ms can't tell the difference. machine is about 7 yrs old so malfunction is not surprising, but I wonder just what the problem might be. I would be willing to upgrade, but win11 won't be here for another year. I have linux (I forget version) on one of my laptops and it works just fine. If you have a suggestion I'm listening and would appreciate any, thanks Charlie R.

I had the same experience and gave the same response. There's no need to read lots of reviws, just scan 3-4 worst reviews for specifics to get enough info to make a decision

Let us, on this site, become more accurate when discussing financial positions of large corporate companies.
In this case, Nikon CORPORATION.
NIKON CORPROATION is a large scientific company with many divisions. If one division is down, it effects the bottom line of the whole, but is not a true picture of the whole corporation.
Nikon is a scientific instrument company with their camera division as one part of the larger whole.
Many large companies have losing divisions, but that does not mean the financial position of the whole company is negative.
Many of Nikons divisions had profits last year, and yes, the Nikon camera division lost money. But to make a statement that the whole is in financial trouble is misleading.
Many posts here have said Nikon is in trouble, they are in fact not in financial trouble.
Your correct title should read, "Nikon Camera Division lost money." Nikon corporation is NOT in financial trouble, in fact, there scientific wing made up for any lose in the camera wing.
Have a nice day and keep on shooting until the end.

Actually, Nikon originally was an optics company, known worldwide for their high quality microscopes and other precision optical eqpt. They have always leaned towards professional grade cameras and other eqpt. They didn't seem to be able to change their perspective to become adept at cheaper point and shoot type cameras, at least not enough to be competitive in the lower level markets in price vs. competition. Most of their cameras that I have seen in those niches were 10% or more expensive than competitors, their reputation for excellence not able to make sales vs. throw away or one time use snapshot cameras. Forgive my grammar

Not quite sure about the controversy, this is 'creative', right? Very good work, prolly some flaws if one looks deeply enough, but irrelevent in my book. Thanks for sharing, keep 'em coming, please.

Her poses have a dramatic quality that is rare, to say the least. I suspect she is quite easy to shoot as well.

Hey fellas, I just finished radiation therapy on my throat. I have NO sense of taste whatever now. They say it will come back some after 3-4 months, but I gotta say, what a LOUSY WAY to lose weight!

I remember working in a commercial developing/printing business as a young college student. All the pleasant and unpleasant odors were there as well as the splash from the large mixing tanks used to supply the processes. I got quite a lot of chemical burns on my forearms from (especially) the acetic acid, had to get and use shoulder length rubber gloves to stop that (along with a rubber shop apron). The experience was priceless and tho it was 50+ years ago, I'd still like to set up my own darkroom but everything else seems to get ahead of my fantasies. I don't suppose that happens to anyone else? BTW, thanks for the memories.
