I don't know what to do with my 10 year old Dell. I have 2 laptops. Certainty there has to be something better than a plant stand.

I want to thank all of you for your advice. I have decided to get the Dell computer I last posited. It is at a higher cost than I hoped for; but, it looks like it will do a good job and be easy to change components. On the price I remember a sign on one of the most prominent stereo stories in Kansas City in approximately the mid 1970'ts. The sign said: "Buy the Best and Cry Once." I do think you saved me disappointment and actually money in the future.
Please keep being as helpful as you are. This is a great site.

Outstanding!!

Thank you for your opinions and advice. I am in great need of it. This is a great forum (It thankfully does not include political arguments in what I look at,)

At my relearning Photosop I don't know how much speed will be needed. Does the graphics card issue just make things slower or does it take so much time or not work that it doesn't have good use? Also, does a new graphics card void the warrantee? HP told me that a new REM card would void warrantee.

Thanks again for helping a slightly brain imbarred Hold Fart.

Need opinions and advice
I previously posted wanting a $700 (no longer the criterion ) desktop computer for Phoroshop. I have looked at options and would greatly appreciate advice on the following computers that all have 16 gb ram: Is there significant between those listed?
I apologize for my ignorance. I am getting my memory back by relearning after brain surgery. I am appreciative of any and all comments.

1. HP Slim S01-pF1048xt Desktop PC

3, Dell OptiPlex 5090 SFF Desktop Computer

Dell OptiPlex 5000 5090 Desktop Computer - Intel Core i5 11th Gen i5-11500 Hexa-core (6 Core) 2.70 GHz - 16 GB RAM DDR4 SDRAM - 256 GB M.2 PCI Express NVMe 3.0 x4 SSD - Small Form Factor

Again, THANK YOU!

If you are firm on #2, then nothing else matters. It doesn't exist.

However . . .

#3. - you are correct - but many gaming computers offer capabilities that can be helpful for editing still images.
#4. - not "top fast" but fast enough - photo editing is memory, cpu and memory intensive - more cpu cores, faster clock, hyperthreading are desirable
#5. - enough memory is usually 16 gb of ram at a bare minimum - and 2 gb vram on a graphics card
#6. - neither do I - but I do occasionally. My Photoshop/Lightroom ready machine is adequate for video editing as well
#7. - future proofing is good - and the Windows platform is ideal. AMD Ryzen 9 seems to be the sweet spot on cpu choice - almost as fast as the fastest Intel i9, but considerably less expensive.

All that being said - it is unlikely you will get what you are looking for in the ±$700 price range. Double it and you'll have lots of options.

https://xoticpc.com/ may have something value-priced worth considering - but not likely at such a low price point.

Thank you. You really helped me in your recommendation for a Fisol tripod that cost plus $600. Over the years I find it to be one of the best investments I have made.

I appreciate the advice.
I have a Dell Tower at least 7 years old. My use for photography was decreased after I feel while taking pictures of my neighbors flowers. The contact of my head with the concreate prevented me from damaging the soil. Had brain surgery and ended up needing to relearn a lot of stuff. My current computer is a mess. I have lap tops; yet, I need a larger computer and monitor.

Thanks to everyone.

If this has been covered recently before please give me the address.

Please help me for a new computer useful in postprocessing (Photoshop). I do not need a gamer computer.

I need the following:

1. Desktop/Tower Windows operating system.
2.Price in about $700 plus or minus
3. I do not need a game computer.
4. I do not need a top fast computer.
5. I do need enough memory to adequately/effectually postprocess images
6. I do not take or use movies
7. If necessary, the ability to replace or add a component

Thank you for looking into this. I have received excellent advice from UHG people.

I am replacing an older Cannon Ink Jet Printer. I am thinking of an Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8500. I am concerned about getting the best quality photoprints with a tank printer. I will print some text documents, but no more than 5 pages a week. I can afford up to price of the ET-8500.
Please give me your opinion or suggestions. Thank you for your advice. It has really helped me in the past.
