Just a quick iPhone shot in the moment. Not for any critiques. Not fine photography... but a moment in time.

A number of years ago we had a backyard tree with similar large growths around the base. Then came the storm... and down went the tree. It showed no roots! Beware... possibly.

Stay calm while reading my Comment as I'am not trying to be disrespectful. First and Foremost you let them pick the Photos, well you know how politically correct things are today and every person out there will use it when they choose. If I plan on letting someone pick Photos from my Website, you can bet that I will look over every Shot that I plan on letting them pick some shot that will open the door for someone not wanting a certain pic due to the Fact That They Just Found Religion the Day Before. Don't You Remember all of The Confederate Flag and Statues that have been abolished in D.C. and across the Nation? I would have took that Photo out of my Set of Shots that they planned on looking at, and it would made me look like a Tornado just hit that shot. I'm sorry that you got hurt by what they did to you, but this is on you, not them. The Customer is always right, like it or not. I feel for You and I would save the Photo for myself and put it on my wall behind the Bar in my Man-Cave. Just think that if that Photo wasn't there, this would have been a total success. So You got stung because some idiot actually realized that You Photo could have become a hot potato if it's hanging on the wall and they just want to find something to scream about. These days you have got to look at something and think hard about something going sideways on you. I worked a job where if I did not read the situation in order to react, then it was lights out. I really look at things at a certain way and I accept that every once in awhile I might make a mistake but then I remember that one time where I got bitten, I know how I will be playing the situation. Plus, You have to stay on solid ground and take a punch to the gut. Things are always going to pop up, I was born on a ship when my Parents escaped and Survived the Holocaust and we settled in Queens N.Y. and we stayed there and it was a great life, but at the age of 14, my Father wanted better for Our Family. So, we moved to Michigan so I could plan on College and I did. I learned a lot from Men and My Father's Life on the streets and we really had to move because I was following my Father's Footsteps and he did not want that for me. I wish You All Of The Success That this World has to offer. I know that you are a very good Man. They knock You Down, then You Spring up like a Rocket and punch them in the gut with a Signed Contract and shove it down their throat.
Stay calm while reading my Comment as I'am not try... (show quote)

Hey Nickaroo... how about learning to write using paragraphs.

What I am bored with is all too common errors that can easily be corrected and people who don't want them be brought to their attention so they can be better at what they do.

It's a question of what kind of a student are you. It's a question of do you want to improve. It's a question of are you willing to listen. It's a question of what kind of grades are good enough.

Yes I'm bored. Bored with stubbornness.

I am amazed at how many submit pictures that fail in the most basic aspect... A LEVEL PICTURE!

It doesn't matter if the point of the picture is something else. Make the effort to do it right.

Two very nice images. Unfortunately you fell into the (easily fixable) trap of not leveling your shots. If not in camera, then in post-editing.

Probably, by bringing this to your attention... you'll probably always check. A good learning experience.

Everything else about the shots... I like.

Yeah...just about 4 inches plus the head. If I can locate some candid phone pics of his work, I'll get some up.

While at the beach the other day I spotted this ladybug on a rock. What it was doing there on an incredibly windy day is beyond me but there she was. I took these two photos of her, the second using fill flash which opened up the shadows of her face. I hope you like them.

Please feel free to make any comments.

Dennis

I'm not competing.... but here is my lady bug. (An iPhone snapshot after seeing your's.) A friend makes sculptures from automobile parts. I recently bought this lady bug from him and she's on my deck.

I thought you'd get a laugh.

Let me comment differently than before.

I would give this photograph a grade of C+.

It is a very nice photograph. However it does contain a very common flaw of not being level. That is very easy to fix... and after being aware of that common error... I'm sure you will be mindful of it and you will have improved.

I improved as a musician by becoming aware of... and correcting my mistakes.

Yes... I'm trying to be helpful. I was a teacher for 35years. I needed to learn from my mistakes.

You gave thumbs down to my reply and to another person’s reply. It’s too bad that you don’t accept them for what they’re designed to do.

Take this scenario.

A student is given a test… “how much is 2 + 2. He answers 5.

#1… the teacher only wants to praise… so he accepts the faulty answer… and says… “nicely done.”
That teacher is guilty of deliliction of duty by allowing the student to think he’s done well when he has actually not done well.

#2… the student will not progress in his learning process. He says to himself… “I’m good. I know it all… cause the teacher said so.”

Learning takes place when teacher and student are committed the truth… sometimes good… sometimes not good.

It could have been a nice photo if it were straightened. No-one wants to swim uphill.
