2-part epoxy, i agree. Use a quick set (5min) epoxy and spin the motor/assembly slowly so that the epoxy doesn't drip, but distributes evenly around the shaft and disk.

Another (inelegant way) would be to just tape it to the shaft with duct tape, gorilla tape, etc. seems it would be more than adequate for your application and the cheapest method of all. But, if you're like me, I would over-engineer it with a very elegant solution. :-) or :-(

My back has been bothering me and I'm looking for a rolling camera bag/pack for air travel. I know about vibrations and all and i can pad for this. Does anyone have any suggestions that will fit under most airplane seats? I'm not concerned about really small airplanes. Also, i dont want to hear about placing the case in the overhead bin. Remember, my back is bothering me. Either roll my gear or leave my camera and a couple of lenses home. Thanks, all.

it amazes me that our politicians think that buying dirty oil overseas, refining it and transporting it here by carbon-emitting ships, train tank cars and tanker trucks, is better for the environment than drilling in North America and transporting it via pipeline. Real geniuses and scammers at the helm.

The mass extinction was not due, in part, to cold! The effect of the asteroid hitting the Yucatan threw up enormous amounts of material that must have stayed suspended in the atmosphere for years. We know that when Krakatoa blew, it did much the same and the effect on the climate lasted some years. So, dont conflate mass extinction with unbearably hot climate change.

If you read APOCALYPSE NEVER, Schellenberger claims there will be much more arable land as the earth warms. Yes. Will be hot at and around the equator, but what's new?

I still would like to see solid evidence that man is the cause of the warming rather than normal chain of events in an interglacial period. Ice core samples from 250K years and 2.5 million years show carbon levels higher than today's (obviously not attributable to man).

I believe the climate is warming. I believe that we should take good care of the planet, but i dont see the link to man...but willing to believe. There are hundreds of thousands of scientists that are not convinced by the data. NOT DENYERS! Just not convinced, yet.

People want to overlook more recent history, too. The native Americans were driven out of the SW US by droughts (50-100 years long). They left us their cliff dwellings and pueblos. We know how hot it got from pollen records. We know how dry, too.

6000 years ago, there was a massive warm up and glaciers in the Alps did a major retreat. No one ever wants to talk about such many climatological events. insteasd, they want to sensationalize every hot spell, every hurricane...where in fact, the hurricanes are no stronger or more frequent today as they have been. Same for the heat. This is what happens when 1) politicians highjack science (like they did/do with covid and 2) when scientists see easy grant money by going along with a narrative. Prof. Emeritus Lindzen (famous climatologist) has said the same.

nobody believes rich create jobs to share wealth. Rich create jobs to become richer. Nothing more. Most all strive to be able to live better. This goes back to earliest human history. Trade this rock for that to make life better. Trade this tool for that rock to make life better. Accumulate more tradable goods to make life better.

Socialism creates mediocrity. Takes away incentives. Lowers drive. We all believe that those in need require societal help, but that should be a relatively few. Now, more than 50% dont pay taxes because they fall below the poverty level. why is that? In many cases, it is easier to live off welfare than to work for a living. I'll be the first to offer help to those truly in need. I'm totally against socialism. Totally against the welfare system in place and totally for rewarding those that create jobs and contribute to society.

One of the most un-American policies is taxing people at different rates. My dream? Every one taxed at the same rate (individuals, corporations). Almost no loopholes. I would allow deductions for charitable contributions. I'd also allow deductions for creating jobs.

I've looked at numbers and analyses in the past and between 10% with no major loopholes would do the trick. Taxing the rich is nothing more than vindicative and jealousy. Who creates the jobs in America? Its typically not the low income earner. Its generally middle class and upper income people.

oh! I would gladly take Trump over the sneaky, senile president in office. Give me a mean tweet in exchange for a booming economy and secure borders.

I know the flak this will raise. I know the standard lies that this will elicit. But there is no denying the fact that he was a better administrator than biden

I do see all the flaws and warts of Trump and dont like him as a person, but he did what he was elected to do and made a strong economy. I have no doubt, that even in the shadow of cv, he would have kept the economy humming and restored it quickly. I dont want to hear how biden inherited a bad economy. We know that Trump and his appointees would have handled things more facilely and more successfully than this administration. Those with TDS will fight this tooth and nail with the standard anti-Trump platitudes. Deny as you will. Those with half a brain know that the economy would prosper under Trump and his appointees.

it has a very creamy taste/texture. Tastes much better than it smells, but after having it many times (including some of the super expensive varieties), I still dont understand the fascination for it. Some pay thousands of dollars for some of the exotic varieties of durian. I? Not one cent!

All forms of public transport in Singapore have the symbol of a durian with a slash through it. Not allowed. Fines can be levied. Yes. Most hotels and businesses do not allow

Saw canned Durian for sale!
I've only heard of it and how nasty it is but apparently there is a market for it.
Yech!

Our Costco has dried durian in bags...like dried apricots or prunes

i remember the whole HP building was evacuated due to "gas leak". Not gas...a durian was smuggled into a conference room on the 5th floor for a celebration. Like most businesses in Sgp, durian is not allowed in the building.

I find durian ok in taste, but i dont like the after-taste or the gas. Prefer other fruits to this highly-prized fruit.

We live on a farm that dates to the late 1800's. I was using my metal detector around the old farmhouse and found this really old coat button. It is only a 1/2 inch in diameter but has some great detail of hunting dogs.

I was trying to find the history on this old button but haven't found anything yet.

Hi, Lorima

while i do have a button catalog that has hunting buttons, there is no description of the hunting buttons and your button is not among those depicted. I can tell you that this type of button became popular for hunters starting in the 1820s and remained popular into the early 1900s.

My son, lives in Montana, is an avid upland game hunter and has two very well trained hunting dogs. Years ago, I bought a hunting dog belt buckle with the head of a English Setter (same dog as he has x2). I mounted this in a shadow box with a couple of hunting dog buttons. The buckle dates to the late 1800s and fits a web cartridge belt for a 45-70. The belt was patented in 1881 for military use. After demand for this belt waned post Spanish-American war, manufacture continued and marketed for sportsmen for a short while.

so, i haven't definitively answered anything for you, but it puts it in context and i would say anywhere between 1820s and 1920s. The button construction seems to indicate post-Civil War, but that is more a hunch on my part. I do have an extensive collection of military buttons, so i am familiar with construction.

Hope someone else has more definitive info for you.

i use a similar naming convention but mine looks like;

YearMonthDay_State (or country)_City/location_original filename from camera.file extension

if people are involved, i will note names before State.

Been using this system for years. It really works for me. the inconvenience of renaming is offset by the ease of file retrieval...and never a duplicate name.

If i modify the file, i copy and rename to include a _A or B, etc. after the file extension. files are placed in folders. I have a folder for each Mammal, Bird, Reptile, etc. or place or person, etc.

works like a charm for me
