I once ordered a 'sample' pack on various types of metal. My personal preference, for most prints is High Gloss White. I purchase these products from WHCC and am very happy with them. Best of luck.

Most of my panos I print for myself on my Epson P800 using 8.5 x 25 paper from Red River Paper. Best of luck.

My choice for this, in modern lenses, is the Nikon Z26/2.8. Best of luck.

In theory the third party batteries can be better than OEM because the OEM's were not made by the camera manufacturers. They contracted them out and at a price point. The battery manufacturers know batteries and in theory they can make better batteries than the one they made for OEM. But I guess they figure that they have to sell the batteries for cheap so they can't make it better than OEM.

In theory they ALL could make better batteries and sell them for less. Just look at the huge price drop on the Nikon En-El 18d from rollout to today. I have four of those batteries I purchased for FULL price of $ 200+! Oh well! Best of Luck.

Personally, I prefer OEM Nikon batteries. YMMV! I have tried Watson, Power Pro (or something like that) and Manfrotto and found that they quickly start degrading. I do have several SmallRig units, because they were cheap and I like SmallRig products. They seem to work well in my Nikon Z8s, but they also SEEM to not last as long as the OEM. Nothing scientific here, no actual testing. Just my opinion and my gut. Best of luck.

Understanding Exposure by Brian Peterson
I highly recommend his books.

Thankfully someone mentioned this book. To become a good photographer, this is the place to start. It's the basics of ALL photography film or digital (or mirrorless). Photography is about light! Period. You need to understand and explore that along with the exposure triangle before you can become good. Good basics brings great photography. (Spoken by someone who started developing and printing B&W film at age 13 now using mirrorless at age 70.). Best of luck.

If you haven’t tried this paper, you have done yourself a disservice. You absolutely must. I just printed three images using 44” roll paper on my Canon Pro-4100 and it blew my mind. Putting it behind glass would feel like a waste, but I suppose I’ll have to. A 2.5” border on a 9x12 print would seem wasteful but for handling and cutting, it’s perfect. My homemade de-curler is getting a workout. The paper has the tightest curl of any paper I’ve ever used.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience.

The curl is THE reason I stopped using roll paper completely. Cut paper may cost more, but I find it well worth it! Best of luck.

I watched an interesting video about prices of external drives vs internal. The guy's point was that external drives - in many cases - are less expensive than bare drives intended for internal use. He couldn't understand why. I knew right away.

He called Seagate and spoke to a very helpful woman for several minutes. In case you didn't know why externals sometimes cost less, here's why. When you buy a bare internal drive, you have lots of choices and lots of specs. You can look at the details and read reviews. When you buy a pretty external drive to put on your desk, you know the capacity and how fast it spins, but not much more. At one time, WD told you what was inside their desktop cases - not anymore. You pay less for an external HDD in a case because it is a lower quality and/or an older drive. If I want an external in a case, I buy the internal drive I want and then buy a separate case.

Take a look at diskprices.com

Have to STRONGLY agree with you on this point. I also recommend you be careful because buying a faster drive than you can use properly will cost you money and you won't necessarily be able to take advantage of the added speed. Best of luck.

I remember paying just under $ 2 per roll for Fuji Press 400 (in 20 roll packages)! I used to buy 1000 - 2000 rolls at a time and got fantastic prices! Those were the days!

I have used speed lights in the past, but I have a set of 3 elinchromes which I use now. Faster setup, more powerful and much more versatile. YMMV. Best of luck.

No. There's a possibility it would melt while being shipped. Drive to a Stewart's. 😁

I drove my son's car to the local Stewart's before I changed the oil. There was a major accident at the intersection, so I turned around and came home.

I used to love that stuff when my family lived your way (Poughkeepsie)!
