I would love to see your pix. When you start out if you have a reasonable camera coupled to a decent scope you can take decent pictures of bright objects without autoguiding if you can limit our exposures to maybe 30 seconds of less. Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn all can be likely targets for you to start.
Tried to answer your note, but lost everything I typed in so far. Will try it again when I get my mind and fingers to co-operate, ok? Sorry about that.
SonnyE, hswader here. Thanks for getting back to me on the telescope thing. We haven't gotten very far with our project yet. Still learning as we go.Right on as to the cost of equiptment, though! So far, it is still in the 'hobby' stages.
Will try to update the info on it with you and anyone else that may be interested, okay?
I and my nephew are starting to set up a astromical telescope with a decent camera attached. Also will be computer controlled. Would anyone in the group be interested in viewing/commenting on any photographs if I can get him to agree to this idea? They won't be anything like 'great' or 'spectacluar', of course, but would like to hear any ideas or comments concerning the operation of same. I will check back on this section for any ideas, etc, that appear. Appreciate any and all help that is provided. Thanks for letting me rant.

One other thing you might want to think about; see if the batteries are made with mercury (?). I don't think they make that type of battery any longer. Don't know if any newer type of battery will work in that particular camera. Had to get rid of my old Yashika because of that reason.
Used to hunt them out Arizona way years ago. Darn things were hard to see let alone hit when flying!

Is it a device for releasing depth charges? That's what it reminds me of, but I may be wrong.

They are not venomous so they pose not threat to humans.
Yup, had one for a pet while I was in high school years ago. Lots of people mistake it for a Copperhead and kill it, thinking it's poisonous. Dumb!
I use the software myself when I download photos from my SD card. It's ( the card) is already in the computer,so I usually go ahead and reformat the card while it's there. Doesn't seem to degrade the card any. BTW, in my case, the software doesn't do a full format of the card, although it does give you the option to do so. I have a Canon EOS T3, and it seems to work alright for me, IMO, of course. Of course, if I'm not sure, then I'll do a in'camera format.
I picked one up at a local Tractor Supply store on a Black Friday sale last year. It's a ground efx M100. For a hundred bucks, it's pretty neat. Haven't had it out too much yet; too much snow on the ground yet! There are a lot of different models out there. Choose carefully, friend, OK?

Forget the flash. Get an LED lightbulb and leave that turned on. At $5.00 for the bulb and 9.8W for electricity, it's the cheapest way to go. Otherwise, an external power supply/AC power for an external flash should work.
jerryc41, hswader here. I would like to find one of those timer charts to download to my tablet. I have recently purchased an intervalometer to use in night photography, but don't know a lot about it yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

A thanks to you, mrtobin, for the information. Will try it out and see what happens. If I get any good ones, I'll try to post them on the site...
hswader here, a real amateur photographer. Hope I get better at it, though. LOL
I located some directions on making an inexpensive light box in my computer files. Thought I'd add them to post on LightBox construction, if that's okay..
If anyone wants to try another project, PM me and I'll e-mail another one to you
St3vv3M,
Thank you for that info. I'll get to it as soon as I can.
Right now, I'm UTMAIA, okay? If you can figure that one out, let me know. LOL

Thanks again for the added info for that light tent. I think I have most of the pipe pieces in the shed (along with a lot of other s**t (LOL). If I need more, I'll just go to my local Lowe's (don't have a Home Depot anywhere close).
