Love all of them, Mary, but the robin is a winner with me. I have trouble shooting them 'cause they won't stay still and pose for me!

thanks for the kind comments. the sharp capture is due in part to the new fast lens I'm using. Also, I recently took 2, 1 day Nikon seminars to improve my photography, and it looks like I learned something.

Ah! Love the depth of field. Wish he were a bit lighter so I could see the color of his eyes, but really great subject! As one grandma to another, I wish mine were that age again.

Thanks. I know the feeling. Seeing infants, because he and his cousin are my youngest grandkids, and they'll both be five this year, makes me wistful.

I was trying out my new lens when the high school track team started their practice. This capture is best viewed full size. Our high school's icon is the Red Devil, and the school colors are black and red.

Not a lot happens here then

Not on Sunday mornings. Although there are some residences, this is mostly a business district.

It could also be subject movement, in which case I should use the continuous motion setting. Will try that also.

Thanks for the honest evaluation. The new lens is really heavy, I was hand holding it, and I think that could be the source of the problem, also I might need to readjust the diopter.
