I feel pretty good right now. Years ago I submitted a photo of green lacewing eggs similar to yours. Of course then I had no idea what they were.

It's always fun to find new-to-me things in the yard.

Yup. Good guess. Green Lacewing eggs (or close relative). The larvae are voraciously predatory...

That makes sense. My milkweed has a ton of aphids so they would have a feast!

I'm not sure what these are. Maybe some type of egg?

Our garden is full of subjects! I dusted off my macro rig and got one keeper.

You should buy this lens! It's the one I use the most.

Thanks for the help. Someone at work gifted me a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT with a kit lens. That is enough to get her started.

Hello my friends. Now that I have gone down the road of full frame FX cameras and heavy glass, my bride tells me she would like to learn photography. Something that takes a EN-EL15 battery would be a bonus. If you are in Richmond, VA I could add in a pretty pie!

Anyone interested in a MIOPS water drop kit? $50.00 free shipping to the USA.
Would be interested in helping you getting things going.

Someone should buy this immediately!

If you live in a metro area, a local thrift store may have something. Otherwise, try www.shopgoodwill.com

Check out a local “antique” store. You can probably find an old Kodak or Ansco pseudo-TLR that would clean up nicely and give your desk that retro art deco vibe.

I'll take a look at some local antique stores.

Looking on eBay, any Rolleiflex will cost you more than that, 5 to 10 times your price. How about this one? About 40 bucks when you add shipping. Or you can just type in twin lens reflex into the eBay search. Note that many of these cameras are being auctioned and don't show what the final price will be.

Thanks for the pointers. I do look on eBay, but I thought someone on here might have something collecting dust.

I'd like to get a TLR camera to sit on my desk at work. Something like a Rolleiflex but I don't plan to shoot film, so it doesn't need to work. 30 bucks or so would be great.

I shoot the Nikon Z6 for my macro sessions in the field and I use a flash with a large lens-mounted diffuser. If you don't want to see the dark image through the viewfinders, go to the menu "d8" and set the "apply to live view" OFF.

Thanks! That is the exact information I needed.

Thanks for the pointers. I found the answer in this thread:

You need to turn off custom setting d8, Apply Settings to Live View. You are seeing what the photo would look like without any flash applied. The camera cannot show you the picture with the flash before the flash occurs.

Turn d8 Off to adjust brightness and hue in the EVR or the back screen for ease of viewing.

I plan on getting a mirrorless camera at some point. With my current setup, I set the iso and flash power based on a test shot. Can you adjust the brightness of the EVF on a Nikon Z6ii?
