Went to Pompeii this past summer and saw nothing that prohibited cameras. Tripods are pretty much not allowed in most places in Italy. Unless you are there on a very dark and cloudy day a tripod is not needed.
Take all the photos you want there is a lot to see. I wish I took more than what I did. Enjoy yourself.

Yes. They are reliable and back up their products. No hassle with returns but you will need your receipt.

I loved Garmisch. I was stationed in West Germany from 1973 to 1977. My family and I spent a week each year in December enjoying winter sports and the relaxing atmosphere of the Christmas season in the Bavarian Alps.

The photos that you are not sure of were taken in Sydney Australia. In the order they are posted are: 1. Sydney Opera House (Sydney Harbour). 2. ANZAC War Memorial constructed after WWI (Hyde Park). 3. 4. 5. St Mary's Cathedral (Catholic) located across the street from Hyde Park. 6. Pagoda located in Darling Harbour in central Sydney. 7. Not quite sure but I believe this is a Museum of Natural History located down the street from ST Mary's Cathedral. 8. Luna Park (Amusement Park) located in Sydney Harbour across from the Opera House.

I visit Sydney quite often to se my daughter and grand children.

It looks like Outdoor Photography is going to be next. I just received the June copy and it is substantially small that past issues. The only magazine that I find any value in is Photo Plus, the Canon version. It is a bit expensive but is a quality magazine. Additionally, there is a Nikon version. Barnes & Noble has it. You also have the option to subscribe to it. It is published in England.

That is correct. The only camera restriction you will find is no professional camera at concerts.

I just reviewed the Indy 500 web sight and there is no mention of lens restriction at the race. If you check the list of prohibited items it does not allow professional cameras at concerts only. I have been going to the race since 1980. Last year I brought my Tameron 150-600 telo lens without issue. When you enter the gate to the track you will have your bag searched to look for prohibited items i.e., knives, guns, or other type dangerous items. In the past races I have carried a Canon 100-400 telephoto lens without any problem. As far as use of the long lens in the stands common courteous is all one needs. Again never had any issues. At times I have allowed others around me use my telephoto lens to take some pictures.

My daughter lives in Sydney and I have made 10 trips. Here are some comments. The bridge climb has restrictions. First of all you have to make some pre checks. You have to go sign up to get scheduled for a climb. Prior to your climb they will give you a breathalizer test. You will be fitted for a jump suit and you cannot take anything to the top. They tour will take you photo for a price. Before I forget the last time I was in Sydney (2016) the cost to climb the bridge was 120 dollar AU. You do have another option. The pylon on the southern part of the bridge has an observation deck. It is a short climb to reach it and you can get some very good photos of the harbor area.

Right next to the Opera House is the Royal Botanical Gardens. Great place for photos of flowers etc. Hyde Park in the center area of downtown Sydney and another great area for photos. In the park is the ANZAC Memorial that honors the troops who fought in WW I. Again great photo opportunities. Darling Harbor great place for photos and to dine. There is a small zoo located there and also a Madame Tussoud's exhibit. The Marinetine Museum is located there and so is A Hard Rock Café.

The amusement park, Luna Park, mentioned in another reply is in North Sydney and can be reached by train, harbor taxi or city taxi. However, if you are going in July you are in the middle of winter and the Park maybe closed. The weather during the day is normally partly cloudy and at times raining, with temps in the low 60's during the day and can drop into the 30's in the evening. It will be to chilly to go swimming but you can still by the beaches - good views and good photo ops. I could gone but I don't want to over load.
